The apartment was empty. Sherlock had found this out after an hour of talking to John only to be refused a beaker he had asked to be passed over to him 5 times in a row. Save for Toby, however, with whom Sherlock eagerly took to talking to with all the ease of any conversation. His bow scraped across the strings of his violin, with a quick melody he was attempting to perfect & he hit a B note with a wrinkle of his nose. "Too much vibrato?" he asked, turning to look down at the hound by his side.

Toby had reacted similarly to the note, though in his case the action was followed by a soft sneeze. When his master spoke, he looked up to him curiously, and tilted his head contemplatively for a moment before bobbing it quickly. The basset stood then, circling Sherlock once before stopping in front of him and craning his neck upward to sniff the air in the general direction of the instrument.

((Hiiiiii, hello, guess who's back, eh? My apologies to you all for that... unexpected and unannounced absence, of a sort. I had planned to go on hiatus for the month of January to avoid spoilers for Sherlock, and for a bit in November, but not for a whole, wow, what, three months? Four? Ack... Things have been sort of crazy recently, family- and life-wise, but everything's sort of (mostly) calmed down for the moment, so I should be able to be on here much more now. Here's hoping.))

After dealing with the mishaps of the Ood and at Midnight, the Doctor finally manages the TARDIS to land where it’s supposed to and gives Donna a proper vacation without any monsters or aliens. Okay one alien and a couple of monsters but don’t worry they’re friendly.

Dug trotted up to the other dog with his tail wagging behind him happily. "Hi there!"

Toby looked up as the retriever approached, his own tail starting to wag also. “Hello,” the scenthound greeted, tilting his head curiously with a friendly expression. “I’m Toby, who might you be?”

The golden retriever’s head also tilted slightly, his tongue hanging out of the side of his open mouth. “My name is Dug. I have just met you and I love you.” Taking a small step forward Dug started sniffing the other dog excitedly.

"It certainly is nice to meet you, Dug." Toby responded, raising an eyebrow as he sniffed back. Some of the scents he noticed on the other dog's fur were unfamiliar to him. Perhaps this newcomer had traveled to places that he had not previously encountered? He sat then, his tail thumping away on the ground behind him.

Basil and Ratigan from The Great Mouse Detective made meet-and-greet appearances throughout the theme parks in promotion for the film. They have since been retired. Ratigan was rumoredly retired because he frightened children. His last appearance was at a special event at the Magic Kingdom in 2004.
