note that i dont think simon calls grace “angel” as a petname like . ever. Its not a casual term it holds too much “yikes!!” energy that both of them get wary of , but there are very few and very specific exceptions

Think:

Normal modern au without an end-of-the-world scenario

Simon is a hitman (unfortunately well-known as the “Butcher”) who doesn’t like his job and barely scrapes by, grew up in a cult and doesn’t know affection

Grace is a middle school teacher after failing in academia, basically a big cuddly golden retriever with self-esteem issues

Human Rockdrian, maybe the COI as an organisation

plenty of hurt/comfort, yearning, cuddles and shenanigans

I just had a vision of an au where some of the Eridians left their planet when the petrova line showed up as a last ditch effort to save their species and find a new home. Rocky’s ship crash lands on earth when he’s young (maybe around like 30 years old?), and 12 year old Ryland and Colt are the ones who find him.
