Healing and health in this country is hospitals, doctors and medicine. Itās often hard to find my place in this community of death. Many times my own people are skeptical of the gift and the colonizer has a monopoly. It can be discouraging and we must remind ourselves who we are and what we have. No matter who accepts or receives what we have, knowing that we ARE the medicine is a truth beyond colloquialism. In the African diaspora, the heart is guided by the Sun and the orisha Oggun , and it is coruled by Oya. While Oggun, the orisha of war, may clear the path so blood can flow, Oya is the orisha of winds and change. Oya ushers in needed transitions to elevate our being and a healthy heart gives us the ability to go with these changes. A trusting heart allows us to surrender control. listen to this spiritual direction, and flow. May Oggun give us the strength to honor and guard our gifts as Oyaās winds of change begin to clear the fog and reveal the Godās truth. As Oggun pace the way, May the storms bring new life. When everything clears, the true healed will be elevated. We are the salt of the earth and the flavor of life!
