i hate this guy

okay… I have read legitimately every single tknp fic on ao3. I sick a “quick” skim through my history on there for this. Most of these, I believe, are over 15/20k - there is a whole swath of fic under 15k that’s awesome, but I’m going to stick with longer ones rn. My memory is garbage so some of these I remember really well, some these I don’t remember as well but I know I enjoyed them, some of these titles I recognize but couldn’t remember plot - so lowkey this also a list for me to come back to and check some of these out lol

This might be like a crazy random thing considering this is a hockey blog lowkey. But I’ve been doing a lot of reading about the nimi•pu• (Nez Perce Tribe) and what they had to go through as western expansion really start to take hold. Like obviously Manifest Destiny and these thoughts of U.S. superiority are thriving and this follows them in forms of harassment, violence, and displacement. If anyone is interested some major points would be the 1855 and 1863 treaties, Tolo Lake and the Salmon River Raids, Battle at White Bird, Flight of 1877, and the Battles at Big Hole and Bear Paw. I’m currently reading about four books at the same, and have two on the back burner atm lol. There’s a lot of first hand accounts from the nimi•pu•, military soldiers and civilian volunteers, and just random settlers and newspapers at the time. It’s interesting to be able to get all these points of views and accounts about all of these events.

Other than this, my 1978-1980 Brandon Wheat Kings interest and research is alive and well. I have probably like 400 newspaper clipping saved for that first season. But it’s staying on a brief pause.
