I imagine that the addisons, being literal embodiments of advertisements, follow a strict code of making themselves appear as marketable as possible, that includes their appearances (slim, often tall, eye-catching colors) aswell as their personalities and behaviour (bright smiles, always welcoming, pushy but not too much !)
Spamton is an outcast on both appearances and personality, he's short, fat, baby-faced, laughs too loud, feels too strongly and his desire for self expression and individuality is less than marketable to say the least (if not outrageous); the addisons however forgive him for this, he's just like them after all ! Just a little... unlucky
Although not purposefully malicious (for the most part..) the addisons are incredibly toxic in their friendship in various different ways:
Pink often uses Spamton as a emotional booster, using his poor sales as an exemple whenever she feels bad about her own, it's nice to have someone around who, no matter what, will always be worse at things than you !
Yellow claims to be Spamton's friend however only hangs out with him because her other friends, who she likes more, hang out with him; never taking initiative to start conversations and mostly observing from afar due to not having much in common
Orange, although genuinely fond of Spamton, also sees him as a personal pet project, one she can "fix" and eventually turn into the perfect little ad (for her own store of course !)
Blue, being much more passive in her behaviour than the others, is still a massive enabler, turning a blind eye to any harmful actions out of fear of confrontation and because it's easier than speaking up
In the end Pink angrily cuts ties out of jealously as her emotional booster now only makes her feel worse about her sales, Orange feels betrayed that her pet project no longer relies on her, Yellow follows her friends out the door and Blue finally takes action only to do so too late...
When you first start making crossover art you may think that you will gather the attention of people who share your love for both of these pieces of media but what you will soon learn is that in reality you will be getting notes from folks who dont know shit from fuck about either one but are thumbs-up'ing you anyway and i think thats far more beautiful

Had a dream where Fangamer released a new piece of Deltarune merch and it was one of those interactive pop-up books y'know the ones where you open a page and a little paper thing unfolds, it was titled "Spamton gets hit by a car" and it was 1 page long, it consisted of a pop-up paper car and it came with a small fucked up Spamton plushie hidden inside the cover you could take out and place infront of it
I can fix him (in the way you would fix an old & worn plush toy)
Anyway started thinking about my own design for Spamton and how his old TV Time suit was sewn onto him after his transformation as a constant reminder of what he lost so even if he was given the chance to clean himself he'd probably still refuse because he doesn't want to be reminded of what's underneath all of the grime; so him finally getting it unstitched would be a metaphorical and literal way of him finally starting to move on...... i need to go lay down in a river
Sometimes i go on Toyhouse or Tumblr or whatever art website and look up Rain World OCs just to look at their names they're always so awesome ESPECIALLY iterator and ancient/benefactor names, i think this is one of the few times where naming a oc is equally as entertaining as designing and/or writing them... maybe that's why i ended up with 30 of em total
Folks will talk about blocking for the love of the game (which is awesome) but i think we should talk about blocking TAGS for the love of the game too, it's literally so awesome, i'm putting it in a little jail only i have the button to free it from it makes me smile, guards this whatever the fuck pissed me off take it away to the blocked terms dungeon forever unlockable only by the scrumptiously clickable button that i am sometimes tempted to press for no good reason
huge fan of when characters love each other and are closely bonded in an explicitly nonromantic way. however βοΈ i am very much not a huge fan of what happens when characters like this are introduced to fandom

What would happen if you were to ascend with scav-ton?
been really bored with this game lately so i thought to try and ascend with this scavenger that followed me everywhere, had to use a few mods to get him down there and past the barrier that stops other creatures from getting through but i did it and was able to ascend with my buddy, the cutscene played like normal i didn't really expect anything new from it i don't think the developers really intended for you to ascend with a scav of all things but i noticed this weird thing in the menu afterwards ? i didn't really notice it at first but there's something in the left corner of the screen like it's poking through, it's not there when i select another slugcat and i haven't been able to find anything in the files, anybody knows what that is ?
Originally my answer was going to be something along the lines of "he fails to ascend and becomes an echo" but that seemed honestly way too normal of a answer, in-game you're not supposed to ascend with the creature AI even slugpups are pushed back up after a certain point (though there are mods that allow slugpups to ascend) so you'd be forcing something that is not meant to happen, you may attempt to give him his "freedom" in the canonical manner of "breaking the cycle" but only you as the player was ever meant to ascend, fighting the game itself and pushing him through does not change that, is this the freedom he wanted ? Is this the freedom you wanted to give him ? Is this even anything at all

If you encounter a black and white scavenger do NOT give it pearls !!! It will NOT add progress to the chieftain passage and will only lower your reputation with every other scavenger FOREVER !!!
Spamton scavenger thoughts i think instead of him being a spam mail he'd function more like a glitched or bugged NPC creature, one that if befriended (given pearls or any gifts whatsoever) will cause your scavenger reputation to plummet so now every scav you meet reacts with immediate aggression
You'd think that getting rid of him (getting him eaten by a predator or killing him with spears or bombs) would cause this to be fixed but every new cycle he pops back up like a pesky little virus you can't get rid of, the only way to truly fix your scav reputation is to reset your run (the chieftain passage is fully locked otherwise)
He's not only stuck in the game's canonical cycle of death and reincarnation but the literal game cycle of respawning, a creature doomed with knowledge that not even a iterator could comprehend, other scavs react in fear as they do not understand his ramblings so they become aggressive towards him, desperate to break free of both cycles tying him down he searches for the one being that could give him that freedom (perhaps you, the player)
