The remnants very much follow their father into Cloud obsession. He is Mother and it is very oedipus in vibes. They have all independently of each other told Cloud that should their father die they would happily marry Cloud (Cloud is very not interested).

As for the other Sefikura children I don't think they care that much. It's just kind of a thing that's happening. The additional children in the household is probably more something they care about because like all the kids kind of get lumped together at least in terms of the staff. They do probably get roped into the Cloud is Just Taking the Children Out Adventures so that's fun for them but yeah, I don't think they really think that much about it at the time.

Seeing from an outside pov how Sephiroth changes to impress Cloud must have been disconcerting

The thing is as well at first Sephiroth doesn't change much. Yes, he's more affectionate with Cloud than he had been with his previous wives (if you count kind of possessive behaviour as affection) but he fully believes what he's like and what he can provide is plenty impressive (because in a lot of ways he is - he is a Very Good Medieval Lord).

And then Cloud very much isn't impressed and Sephiroth has to like recalibrate and then starts changing to try and impress the person he's been obsessed with for over a decade.

And, yeah, it's got to be slightly disconcerting to those around him because while Sephiroth as a person is kind of aloof and cold he is a Good Lord and he's been kind of steady in temperment and approach to things. But now, after getting married his behaviour is changing. You are going to be concerned that this is going to affect how he is as a Lord.

That definitively falls into a bit of a "most verses I write are actually flow-charts not neat narratives".

On one side of the flow-chart Cloud and Sephiroth remain together until their deaths. On another they become enemies with Cloud 'fleeing' (read: storming out) with his children to go back to their old land and there being all kinds of complicated political things happening. Hell, on another the Remnants try and stage a coup in order to inherit early and become the Problem That Has To Be Solved.

It's hard for me to call Chadley and Mai accidents when Sephiroth was sleeping with an omega Cloud during his heats in a time period without birth control (which, yes, I am aware of the evidence of medieval condoms and the like they don't seem widely spread and so probably weren't being used here).

(The situation with Prompto was that they slept together before Cloud actually realized he was in heat, thinking the 'high' he was feeling was because of successfully winning a tournament and beating Sephiroth in a duel, once he did realize he was actually in heat is when the oh shit hit)

The series is called The Great, in case you're curious to check it out. It's actually really fun to watch, and whenever I saw them interacting I always thought they could be Sefikura, except that everything Peter thinks he is, Sephiroth actually is.

The Great is very much on my to-watch list. Just, I'm terrible at watching things. But it is very much something I mean to get around to watching.

The thing is I think Sephiroth is actually a good Lord, he's just someone that is kind of socially awkward and that comes across as aloof and domineering. Like the biggest complaint the people who live under him have is that he's known to tax a bit more harshly than other Lords (but the flip side is he uses that tax to build stockpiles so when times are lean there's enough to get everyone through unlike his father Hojo who taxed even harsher in order to fund his own work). Yes, he expects people to abide by the social rules in terms of interactions between classes and doesn't exactly interact much with the lower class outside of the structured expected situations but that actually makes him align with the way most Lords behaved not the exception. He does his job as Lord very well.

Compared to Zack and Cloud who their people loved because they were very personable and went out of their way to spend time with those they were in charge of but like their Castle staff were the ones doing most of the actual running of the place with Zack and Cloud more just doing the performative expected stuff.
