Replace the fear of the unknown with curiosity.

I cannot express to you how FAST it has gone. I grew up in a world that does not exist now. We're starting on the path to reverse it, globally. You might not know how much solar has EXPLODED in the last decade or two. It's gone from a side thing, a weirdo novelty that was just Not Viable... to whole countries investing in infrastructure. but we have to keep fighting big oil and fascism everywhere we can in order to keep on this road to a new better less scorching burning earth.

And it all just pisses me off because while I can dismiss S3 as a piece of shit written by a piece of shit, part of the legacy it leaves behind is the poisoning of the fandom, now and in the future, against a character I have loved for 30 years.

(I know Crowley was treated very badly by Season 3 too. Please don't @ me to tell me how much worse he had it - that was the intent. They were both done extremely dirty, but you're meant to sympathize with Crowley and to see Aziraphale as cruel.)

So, before I even start, I haven't tagged this anti go3, and that's deliberate. I don't think this post is 'anti', but it will include some of my rambling thoughts about how the finale didn't work for me, but could have. That said, I don't want to piss in anyone's chips, so if alternate endings are not what you want to read, scroll on.

Anyway.

Its been said a million times before, but I'll say it again, what we needed was more of Aziraphale and Crowley in accord, working together, on their own side once again. But how could this have made the finale less tragic (for me personally) without changing the fundamentals of what happened at the end?

Well, what if we had the same ending, but it wasn't tragic? What if it was defiant? Anarchistic? What if Aziraphale and Crowley made the decision to end the Universe together, completely in accordance, not out of despair, but out of gleeful, manic fucking RAGE? With the same energy as Crowley refusing to let the Bentley burn on the M25? You think you've won, God? You haven't, we win again! We found the lady, here you are, and you're giving us a choice. Damn straight we're using that choice. You think we could never exist again? Oh, we're not so sure of that. We'll pop up again, no doubt.

I want them defiant in the face of tragedy, joyful in the loophole they've found. And most importantly, making that decision TOGETHER. Preferably with Joshua and Adam too.

There's even a line from the book they could have borrowed that would have been perfect. Nice knowing you, Aziraphale says to Crowley, here's to the next time, Crowley responds. Kiss/hug here optional, universe explodes. Sad.

No FUCKING way ever would crowley decide the answer was to kill Aziraphale.

But like, cheetahs are the only large cats that keepers will do free contact with. Hell, even most small cats don't get free contact. (Because small cats can be VICIOUS. They'll have a baby pallas cat wearing thicker gloves than when handling an owl. Because small cats can just be vicious.)

Like I think the only other cat at our zoo where I've seen free contact with was servals? Because I know they've used servals in shows to demonstrate their natural jumping ability. But I know servals can sometimes have a mean temper as well. Meanwhile they'll do the cheetah run and afterwards put the mic by the cheetahs and it's just like an engine with them purring. It's fascinating to watch when the message in every other large animal is "no free contact because it's dangerous even when they're born in captivity".
