goofy little soriku doodle for pride month :)

almost missed it bc ive been busy with artfight prep and whatnot but doodled these little fellas bc soriku :) (also didn't wanna miss out on pride month of course)

I think one of the reasons why I took a liking to Corbeau was because of his need to be noticed by the player. Perhaps he saw the player how Lysandre saw him when he was younger? Maybe he doesn’t want to lose them, perhaps he’s lost people around him. Does he feel like he can’t afford to lose someone else? There’s a lot about his past that gets brought up when you first meet him, although it doesn’t get revisited later on. Perhaps it’s up for us to decide.

Either way, I’m a sucker for characters who appear gruff and guarded on the outside but slowly show themselves as the walls come down. He clearly has a soft spot for the player.

Who’s holding his face in the drawing: the player? Lysandre? Philippe? Guess that’s up to you. I needed an excuse to draw him so vulnerable and beautiful, it’s how I like him most (guiltyyyy).

I like to think that Corbeau eventually trusts someone enough that he’s close with to see him at his most vulnerable: crying and expressing his need for them. We all deserve to express ourselves and our feelings and it’s important to have someone we can rely on in those moments.

Either the Rust Syndicate office has amazing ventilation-I mean it must since it doesn't have any windows. Or that office smells like ass after a battle. Maybe he uses his Roserade to neutralize the stink. And that's not even considering the toxins spewed by his other Pokémon.

Who Owns What In Corbeau's Office?

The green vase. Another antique and super expensive.

I reversed imaged searched and it's supposedly a Chinese style vase. Take that answer with a grain of salt. But considering Paldea had Pokemon inspired by cursed Chinese objects. Maybe it's a reference to a region in the works.

Given all the ancient Pokemon from Sinnoh (Overquil, Bronzor and Sneasler) I'm gathering that Corbeau may be a history buff.

I think the Katana is Phillippe but it represents both of them.

I tend to use color to guess who owns what. Phillipe's colors are black, gold and silver. Corbeau's colors are black, purple and also gold. So when you see solid gold it's probably Phillipe. Purple and gold it's probably Corbeau's.

The Katana sheath is a gradient of black to grey ending with a gold hilt. And I think the addition of grey leans it more towards Phillipe. Remember that while their colors overlap their combinations are very specific.

Given that Phillipe was all about brute force in his past. Him having a weapon fits within his character. Plus he has the closer proximity to grab and use it.

But we can't ignore the purple string. That little purple string. It might seem so unimportant. But it is the one of the most valuable pieces to the katana.
