This is so funny but well. In my AU I didn't have a MC for Legends ZA so I ended up adopting Terra. I have two OCs that are called Mist and Ombra. They're siblings. Mist is older than her brother and they're both immortal. They're AZ's children so my AU is basically them silently judging everyone in a corner and trying to appear creepy to them. They sleep on the third floor and spend a lot of time on the rooftop terrace so when they first came down they sw Terra taking the Royal Z-A picture and were like: "Oh. A new one." That night they betted on who would fall for her first. Somehow Ombra won. He said: "A shady man with a bad reputation. And she will fall too." Mist laughed. Now she owes her brother a diner.
AKS:GLASKGAL: THIS IS SO FUNNY.... they're like the twins from The Shining...
Ombra should go get a job as a fortune teller because that's some amazing guesswork
also holy shit what an honor it is that your just have Terra in your AU 😭
Hopefully she doesn't cause too much trouble for them stumbling into Hotel Z late at night after drinking too much
Terra should love Corbeau more and help him make friends with the MZ kids by inviting him to dinner when Urbain cooks.
Oh she tries but they don't quite gel with him because 1. they think his jokes are really lame and unfunny (they are WRONG) and 2. they're still a little on edge about him in general and feel awkward with him there
It's like when your group of besties hang out and 1 of them brings their new boyfriend who just sits there
Considering that in canon he compliments Urbain for even preparing meals for his Pokemon, I think he probably cooks decently well like 50% of the time, but I don't think Beau would be a fan of croissant curry (or maybe he would actually... it's japanese french fusion and he is seemingly both of those things)
I'm sure down the road he gets promoted from "Scary guy we don't like" to "Weird uncle figure that thinks he's soooo funny" but it's going to take a bit of time
What words could you see baby Apollo picking up from his mom and mortifying papa Beau when he spending time with him? What stupid shit would he learn and say basically
I think it’d be mostly non Kalosian cuss words.
I like to think Beau cusses in both Kalosian and whatever default language the people in the game speak, but if he stubs his toe or is gets jumpscared, it’s in Kalosian.
He’s probably pretty good at not cursing around his children so if he hears them suddenly blurting out non-Kalosian expletives, it is more than likely Terra’s doing.
Perhaps Terra has a glass of red or 2 around Apollo but not cigarettes for obvious reasons, though she may lament about wanting to go for one out loud.
Picture this, Beau at a park with his son, just shy of turning 4. Another parent sits down to chat with him as their kids play together. As the summer sun beats down on them, he calls his son over to ask if he wants to go for some ice cream to beat the heat.
Apollo opens his mouth and Beau is mortified at what he says right in front of another parent.
“I could really go for a smoke”
As it turns out, Apollo has asked Terra what that phrase meant and in a slightly drunken panic, says “it’s like an ice cream break but for grown ups”

I'm dying to know how Corbeau's first battle against Terra would go! (ZA Royale or not) I imagine he'd know of her abilities due to how she fast climbed the ranks, but not expect to lose so badly (she IS the Champion ofc). During their early "can't stand each other" stage, would he be awestruck, embarrassed, or just furious he got swept by a "mere" tourist? I picture him having the biggest crisis afterwards😂Perhaps seeing her firsthand would be such a shock, he's stuck staring, impressed+pissed
Just like in canon, their first battle is their promotion battle, I don't have them battle each other at all during the time they're still working together because Corbeau really wanted to savor their eventual battle.
She offers but he always turns her down.
He also knows she's a strong trainer from the way she climbed up the Z-A Ryoale, but was observing her and her Pokemon during the couple of months leading up to their eventual battle. He can't get too overconfident because she's an actual threat, so he has to bide his time, observe how she battles, the patterns of her Pokemon etc.
Unfortunately for him, she still had a few tricks up her sleeve. He never even knew about her Shalpha Scolipede until they fought because Terra hardly trained her due to her inability to keep Chevaline under control.
Their battle isn't like "Oregano kills everyone" levels of one-sided, but she does have half her team still standing when he's on his last. When he sends out his Scolipede, so does she, but because Chevaline is so large and untrained, her attacks are wild and hard to dodge. Corbeau gets injured as a result (minor injury, but visually it was a lot of blood), and Terra stops the match just shy of her victory to run over and check on him.
After he gets patched up and the physician has confirmed that it's just a minor scratch on his forehead (foreheads just tend to bleed a lot), he's resting on the office sofa while she has her head in her hands and feeling REALLY guilty because this only happened due to her negligence as a trainer. He tries to reassure her that it's okay, accidents happen, but because he's so low on energy now from everything that happened, he tone comes off a little half-hearted and Terra thinks he's just saying that to be nice.
He also forfeits the match, giving her the victory, stating that while he's not usually the type to do this, he knows when to call it quits; there was no way he was going to beat her knowing the rest of her lineup against his one Scolipede.
She leaves to let him rest, and as she's getting into the elevator, he hits her with the "I don't think I'm done with you yet. I'll see you at Hotel Z." but again, low energy, she can't really read his intent and assumes the worst that he's angry with her.
In that AU she prolly still kissed him during the ladder scene, expressing her fear of them all dying. Him probably reassuring her and loving her back. Post death reveal him realizing she was more “free” in Luminose and with him. How she must have really liked him that much if this champion who hasn’t really had a relationship ever confided a lot of her feelings in him and caught big feelings. Ow
Yeah... and during the ladder scene she does also say "We could both die today" and perhaps in this AU where Terra does actually die, he wishes he did too.
He's lost the one person he felt was truly his equal, but no one else will ever know what she meant to him. He has no proof, most of their conversations were verbal, they never took photos together thinking that they still had plenty of time; they were supposed to have a whole month left together.
Terra never mentioned him to her parents, and while Steven and Wallace know of their relationship, it's a little weird to go to your dead friend's parents and be like "This is her boyfriend of 3 weeks"
To a large majority of people in Terra's life, he never existed.
At least she died knowing that at least one person saw her for who she is. That she was so loved.
i love the little details that hint that Corbeau being a kinda lonely and a little desperate for friends, and perhaps doesn't know how to socialize like a normal person.
As early as your first mission under him, he's stopping by to check in on the player. Fair enough, it is your first mission, perhaps he just wants to assess you. When the player poke fun at him with "I take it you're not very busy" or "Nothing better to do, huh?", he doesn't really respond to it, instead just going on about why these Gengars are here.
Just a "Hmph." which you can read as him not really caring about your opinions but I think it's also funny if its just like...he feels called out and doesn't want to give you the satisfaction of a larger reaction.
I do also find it really interesting that the dialogue options they give you to talk to this scary intimidating guy with a bad reputation are both a little disrespectful. You're literally at his mercy in terms of how much work you have to do, and yet both options are to sass him. Though perhaps it's because of this that he feels like you're not just another debtor to him if you dare to poke the bear like that.
He then shows up again after the sewer mission... he already has a grunt to supervise the player, there's no need for him to be there. But the player's piqued his interest with the whole 'I'm the one calming down the rogue megas' thing (as well as having met Lysandre).
He shows up AGAIN at the battle court after you help out those kids.
"Anyway, you really are strong, aren't you? And yet you don't boast or show off... Why, nobody even knows that you're the one calming Rogue Pokémon. You're an interesting one."
You don't have to read it as romantic interest, but he's definitely taken quite an interest in the player and is constantly seeking them out.
The whole thing with his stay at Hotel Z is so fucking funny to me cos he's just saying shit and no one is directly responding to him.
All AZ says after this is "If you would put your name down here."
No one comments on him joking about being a "handyman"
No one even comments on his handwriting either after he brings it up, they just show him to the elevator to rest for the night.
It feels like he's trying to break the ice or lighten the mood but no one gaf/too scared to say anything/hates his ass too much to entertain him
In the Z-A Infinite Royale, he says this when you beat him
“Even when you beat me, I still end up having fun. Guess it’s ‘cause I can be myself around you.” which is cute but is so sad?? How much of yourself do you have to hide from others that you're saying shit like this to a tourist you only recently met.
Skipping forward to the DLC cos my memory of his dialogue in the Jacinthe Tournament is honestly foggy as well as the end of the mainstory (I know what happens just not the dialogue specifically)
It wasn't as obvious in the main story, but it's written out for you in the DLC that Lumiose residents are scared of him.
He probably stays in a lot more than he'd like to avoid causing unecessary distress, and if just walking around is enough to spook them, I don't think its very likely that they'd be comfortable befriending him either.
Even during the main story, we see Jacinthe call him 'The cunning Corbeau', who would ever be comfortable befriending a guy with a reputation like that?
Bringing up the early interaction where the player sasses him again, it was probably refreshing for the player to have an attitude like that. You had the guts to talk back to him despite disadvantageous circumstances he had put you in; you were not afraid of him, and that's just so interesting to him.
Come on, let's be real, this is just his way of saying "I'm lonely, please come visit me" but written up in a fancier way.
A lot of his dialogue feel genuine on his end but because of the way he talks and phrases things, can come off insincere or indirect in a way that may be offputting to people. Like he's addressing matters directly but the phrasing is indirect. Idk how else to describe it. You know when someone speaks so eloquently it comes off pretentious and insincere? smth like that
He's the most insincere sincere man ever i love him so much
There are theories about Corbeau being both Kieran and Carmines father which I don’t see being true maybe closer to brother territory. There is a lot of evidence to support it so I was wondering what do you think about it?
I mean it's entirely possible they're related but I always imagined that if that were the case he's at most their uncle or cousin that neither side are aware of.
Just for fun... let's ponder this for a minute.
idk when in the timeline SV is in relation to ZA but I feel like if he had a wife to have kids with it would have been brought up somehow, unless SV is truly so far in the future that Kieran and Carmine weren't even born yet at the time of ZA.
You could say Beau's very secretive etc so he could have just Not mentioned it, but to me he reads as a really lonely guy that finds any reason to see his little friends though he tries to be a little subtle about it.
This is evidenced by him always asking you to drop by his office during the DLC (he literally says it himself that he prefers face-to-face chat because of the warmth it brings as opposed to calls, which is just his way of saying "I'm lonely please come see me"). If he had a wife by then he could just go hang out with her instead; your partner should be your best friend, no?
The only way it feels plausible for me is if SV is in the far future, I just can't see him managing to fit a secret family he never mentions in the context of ZA, especially with how close he gets to the player and saying shit like "Even when you beat me, I still end up having fun. Guess it’s ‘cause I can be myself around you"
Which if I had a husband who was saying this to some random tourist they met recently, I would be fuming.
I think the evidence is mostly circumstancial tbh. They gave him purple hair to give off the crow vibes, and purple's complementary color is yellow, hence his eye color, and also to give off the snake-like feel. Them having japanese theming (Kitakami and RS being Yakuza based) I dont really think holds that much water since the game devs are Japanese.
I could always be proven wrong, but sometimes characters end up with similar traits simply because it's just a common thing in character design that works well. It could just as easily been "Wow, this Kieran kid sure is popular, let's try and make a character that is visually similar"
I think it'd be cool if they could tie him to them, but just as a distant relative instead of something as direct as being their dad. Maybe even something as simple as Beau taking a trip to Kitakami and having a feeling that he may be related to them, but also not wanting to open that can of worms because he's already gotten used to his life in Lumiose

Canon TerBeau gets their happily ever after and normal couple life after the events of the game and DLC, but once in a while I think of an AU where she dies at the end of the main story after the Ange Floette fight.
They still date but she just never reveals the real reason why she can't just move to Lumiose even though she wants to. She still talks about how the 'Terra' he got to know is the real one and the 'Terra' she is back in Hoenn is just for show, but he's left in the dark about her true identity.
He only finds out when it gets reported in the news after her death when authorities go through her things back in Hotel Z to see if they can send it back to any family she may have. They put up a statue of her in her honor at Wild Zone 20. It's her in her Champion outfit. He's devastated at the loss, but also so angry because he knows this 'Terra' isn't how she wanted to be remembered.
Obviously this is not canon, I'm too much of a coward to kill her off, but it's a fun mental exercise
It's easy to find photos of Champion Terra, but because Terra doesn't have much of a social media presence outside of her Champion accounts, the only photos/videos that exist of Lumiose!Terra are either the ones she or Team MZ took.
Because Terra never told her parents about Beau, he can't get those photos from her phone without sounding like an insensitive creep trying to get their deceased daughter's private photos. Team MZ isn't dealing with her death very well, so asking them for photos of her while they're also grieving is not a good look. The likelihood that they continue interacting with him after this is slim; the only reason they ever put up with him was because of Terra.
Beau stares at his laptop. At the surveillance footage of in and around the office. Of the times she was still there. This is the only way he can see her again.

what would happen if Terra and Corbeau ran into Brendan
Kinda depends on which part of their relationship they're at tbh
I've not fleshed out Terraverse Brendan a lot cos he's mainly for Terra to compare herself to as opposed to an actual character (for now...)
Prior to dating Corbeau, she still has conflicted feelings about Brendan.
There are times she feels as if he was the right person but met at the wrong time and now she'd never find someone again. It's not that she's super broken-hearted about him, but she legitimately never found anyone she liked as much as Brendan up until later on in her time spent with Corbeau.
The main reason he broke up with her was because she was so busy trying to keep up with her Champion training when she was 14-15 that he just felt like an afterthought to her. An unfortunate lesson that she can't have her cake and eat it too.
For context, Brendan represents many things that Terra wishes she got right. He has a respectable and noble profession as a Pokemon Professor, has maintained and even broadened his social life by being able to actually spend time with people, and even found someone he loved as a result (and married pretty young too).
He's a relatively simple and down-to-earth guy and gets to be himself because he doesn't really need to put on a mask for his role. People gravitate towards him because he's just a really genuine person, and she can't believe she fumbled all that.
Terra's at the top of her game, undeniably the strongest trainer in all of Hoenn, and yet it's a title that can be stripped away from her at any moment. Completely untouchable in status but also in her social life; you can never really know if she's pretending or not and therefore cannot ever say for sure whether the Champion Terra you met is the 'real' Terra. Schedule so packed with brand deals, signings, regular Champion duties, event appearances etc. that she just doesn't have time to keep up with people let alone meet new ones.
She's beloved by all and yet truly beloved by none.
If they met Brendan during the window where they're maybe a little more well-acquainted but not yet dating (and let's forget for a second that Beau doesn't know her secret identity while Brendan does), Terra would act off enough for Beau to pick up that they have history that probably didn't end well. He still needs information from her so he'd act all fake-nice to try and get in her good books.
If they met him after they started dating post mainstory though, I think she'd be a little less awkward about it. Corbeau knew about Brendan fairly early on in their relationship, so he already knows who and what he is to Terra. By this point, a lot of her insecurities in regards to comparing herself to Brendan have since been worked out.
Fear of her title being the only proof of her strength and it mainly being tied to her Blaziken being OP as fuck -> She literally trained a new team from scratch and prevented ANOTHER catastrophe in 6 months
Not having the time to maintain relationships or form new ones -> She now only performs as Champion for 1/3 of the year, so the remaining 2/3 is a little more lax (though she still has to work to keep up her lifestyle, but it's not as much as before), meaning she has time to actually spend with Beau and Team MZ
Being unsure that people like the REAL Terra since she always has to put on that cutesy loving angelic facade -> No one really knows about her identity, or at least no one that would spread it, so she's free to just be herself with the people she interacts with in Lumiose City, and people do like and respect her! At most they think she's a little eccentric.
Beloved by all but beloved by none -> Fulfilled both platonically AND romantically (Team MZ and Beau respectively)
I think Brendan would be quite glad to see that she's finally found someone who can match her pace since he always felt like she was always moving much faster than he could keep up with. Corbeau would be friendly but professional; he knows she's still slightly awkward around her ex and would never hear the end of it if he tried anything funny with him. But it's no longer something she'd really dwell on, y'know? Just like a "yeah I used to kiss that guy, weird seeing him now all married and stuff, meanwhile I'm still calling you my 'boyfriend'"

While I haven’t drawn him yet, Oleander is meant to bear a resemblance to Lysandre, but now that I think of it, perhaps that causes problems for him?
I mean, he had to be orphaned in order to get adopted in the first place. He has no memory of his parents nor does the orphanage have info on them which meant he was abandoned really young, but only got adopted by TerBeau at 5 years old.
It shouldn't have been that difficult for him to get adopted out when he was younger since iirc the younger the kid the easier to get adopted. But ig people thinking you're possibly a relative of the guy that wanted to destroy all life a little while back sorta changes things.
It's not even confirmed whether he is related or not (nor is it something I care to confirm since it's ultimately not relevant), but he's seemingly being punished just by looking like him. He's also taller than kids in his age group, which unfortunately serves to make the resemblance stronger.
Even after he's living with a family that loves him, he's probably still going to get stares from passerbys or maybe even get bullied at school because parents tell their kids "don't hang around that Oleander kid, he may be bad news" (though lucky for him, his brother who's a little bit of a wild card goes to the same school and is in the year above him, so his bullies get not-so-neatly put away)
When he's out with his dad, some people may stare and gossip. Usually it's about his father, but sometimes it's about him, and Beau hates when people speak ill of his son. Beau does not hesitate to snap back at full grown adults gossiping about a child, HIS child. If it's a teen or a kid, he's still stern but chooses to educate instead. After all, rumors spread quickly amongst children and Beau doesn't want to sabotage any potential future friendships little Ollie might form.
Even if it did turn out that he was related to Lysandre, so what? It's not like he had a say in what happened, he hadn't even been born yet. We musn't punish a child for an adult's mistake.
By this point in time, Terra's identity as Champion is pretty known in Lumiose. Oleander notices that people are nicer when he's with his mother, or perhaps they just don't want to get on a well-loved Champion's bad side.
However, sometimes that's not enough to stop the unwanted attention towards him. She's not as confrontational as Beau, but makes it very clear that you've fucked up by talking shit about her little boy.
Her preferred method is to walk away while saying out loud things to the effect like "Come now, Ollie, don't listen to that cruel lady, she's sick with stupidity. I hear it's contagious, we have to get away from her." sometimes it's enough for Ollie to laugh it off, sometimes he hears something hurtful enough that he has to try his best not to cry.
At times where it's the latter, she takes him over to a quiet corner to let him cry it out while she attempts to console him. He's still so young, it's difficult for him to grasp why people would be so cruel to him.
Though he has parents that stand up for him and siblings that love him purely for who he is, he's still a reserved child that prefers to be in places where he can avoid uncomfortable interactions with strangers to begin with.
Apollo usually hangs out around deserted rooftops and Oleander will follow if it's not too dangerous.
Alouette is the most attached to Oleander out of anyone in the family and she's usually at home, so he joins her for whatever fake tea party she's trying to host with her Pokeplushies and Tinkatink, or even doing makeovers. It's not a rare sight for TerBeau to come home to Ollie with his hair (badly) done up.
He also frequents the Rust Syndicate Office as it's the calmest option of the 3, and the grunts are all nice to him (I mean, duh, he's the boss's son). While Beau is a busy man who sometimes works with angriest scowl ever documented, he makes sure to never direct that anger at his children. If Ollie wants to ask him something or just talk to him, his expression immediately softens, both from a place of love but also wanting to create a relationship with his children where they always feel safe with him. He's patient in his explanations, and listens when he speak, and if he's truly unavailable/too busy, he asks Ollie to write it all down and schedules him in on his actual work schedule.
Outside of these places, he's usually around the quieter sides of town observing Pokemon and taking down notes like a budding researcher.
