Captain Cathode and idolization. This is probably my favorite OC piece I've done with any of these guys.
I really have no interest in "D'uhh what if Superman was evil" type characters, I find the trope played out and uninteresting tbh. Buuut what if Superman was good but Clark Kent was kind of a dick. Connie Chen is a smoking, drinking, vulgar person who isn't entirely comfortable with people around the world singing her praises and looking up to her as a role model. She doesn't really think she's deserving of that kind of adoration.
She's also the perfect soldier. She follows orders and puts her service to the people above her own life. She wants to be the kind of person worthy of the esteem shes been given. She's an invulnerable, flying butch commie dyke. She's the first superhero. She's got a playboy collection in a box somewhere. She's an astronaut with a Ph.D and the whole world's respect, but can't get her parents to return her calls. She's a womanizing cad and a perfect gentleman. She's drowning in expectation. She's Captain Cathode!
