So, I didn't end up adding the #Svelte protein shake, that's just my guilty pleasure of recent. But I did #juice #tumeric, more rainbow chard, two carrots, one opal apple and blend in one tbsp #pb and a frozen banana. So delicious. You could add protein powder into the mix and it would be amazing, or add another carrot &apple for sweetness!

4 Ingredient Pumpkin Spice Sauce
Ever wondered how to recreate your own non-gmo, organic pumpkin spice sauce like the one you order at Starbucks? I've got a delicious recipe that you will love and it couldn't be easier to make. 1 can organic sweetened condensed milk 1/2 cup organic pumpkin puree 1 cup organic cane or coconut sugar 1 tbsp. pumpkin pie spice & blend :) I love to enjoy just the smallest amount of this pumpkin pie sauce with a cup of coffee and a splash of hemp or oat milk. Hilary's Eat Well
Lately, I've been stopping in the frozen section of my local co-op to grab up Hilary's veggie burgers. Specifically, the Adzuki Bean Burger. The best part? They're made with natural, wholesome food ingredients that you can actually recognize.
Did I mention that they taste amazing, too? These little burgers totally satisfy my late-night snack attacks. I had to pick up two more packages today because, well, they were on sale & hey, we all need quick and easy sometimes! the yoga of sleep
When I first experienced yogic sleep, or Yoga Nidra, I wasn't really sure what to expect. To me, it was somewhere between meditating, and lucid dreaming. What interested me about yoga nidra is that it is guided, and is thought to reduce anxiety, depression, headaches, chest pain, and even PTSD, while focusing manifesting greatness into your life. You do not sleep when you practice yoga nidra, and that is reminded to you several times during the practice. At the beginning of the practice, you set an intention or affirmation that you want to manifest into your life. It cannot be ego based. This means, your intention cannot be, "I want to obtain one million dollars." Your intention instead, would be, "I am rich in all areas of my life." During the practice, you are prompted to keep your intention close to you and repeat it at certain times, as well. HERE is a link to a yoga nidra practice for you to try at home for yourself! The sweetest season
..has finally arrived! For the second year in a row, I chose to not eat any of the "traditional" Halloween candy. What I mean by traditional is your Kit-Kat, Snicker's, Twix, etc. I most definitely did not abstain from sugars, as my housemate's girlfriend and I baked up a batch of brownies, along with pumpkin cinnamon rolls. Mmmmmm! They were so delicious, but since we made them at home, I knew exactly what I was putting into my body. AND I only ate one serving! Whereas with the bite size candy bars, you are putting tons of junky chemicals into your body and likely to mindlessly eat since they are smaller portions! We still have a large amount of candy left over from the lack of trick-or-treaters, but I am still far from tempted. Today I'm back to my normal eating habits, I totally woke up with an achey belly from yesterday. I have to say, though, I am counting down the days until favorite food holiday.. Thanksgiving. The mother of all food holidays, in my eye. Since practicing portion control and overcoming my binge eating, I never have to worry about dieting until the day of, restricting and/or over-exercising the day after. Allow yourself to have the things that you desire and you will never have to worry about "binging," because you are entitled to indulge. Everything in moderation, including moderation.
If somebody tries to tell you that fruit has too much sugar, just walk away from that conversation. Your body can identify the natural occurring sugars in fruit, whereas the sugars in breads/baked goods, etc. are much, much different. ;)
