my favorite thing about hmc it’s how it spends the most part of the book making us fangirl over howl’s Powerful Magic™ because as we read it through sophie’s perspective and he’s the one who introduces her to magic she looks up to him, while she completely ignores (we along with her) all the magic she does since the book starts and that’s seriously inspiring, like, sometimes it’s really hard to see your own magic but it still there even if you’re not aware of all the good you’re doing to the world

kudos to merlin for not using any memory altering spells and just rawdogging gaslighting for the love of the game

earlier today i told an acquaintance in passing that i'll often be in the middle of a novel and think "man i wish this shit were more ambiguous" and had to reiterate twice that i wasn't being sarcastic before they believed me, so this post is to say: i love when writers don't bother to explain everything, i love when stories end uncertain and unsettling, i love being required to think as a reader, i love when stuff makes no damn sense, no i'm not kidding

Come to think of it, it really is insane that my entire country is burning alive and literally no one in the rest of the world cares. Thousands of Indians are dying every day from the heat, it's 45+ degrees in multiple areas, the government couldn't give two fucks, we're getting severe warnings and red alerts, and not a soul outside of South Asia is speaking about it because why would you ever care about brown people

Something that the yanks can maybe relate to: this is basically Death Valley temperatures. In a whole country. With people expected to carry on their daily lives as normal.

I think adults need summer vacation. Like let's just close down all our jobs for three months and play outside. Please. I'm so tired.
