Many believed the tiny fox had gone extinct

Strange things happen to animals when they colonize islands. Some of them get larger, like the enormous rabbit Nuralagus rex of ancient Menorca, while others get smaller, like the dwarf fox of Cozumel. This mysterious species of gray fox is estimated to be only around 60 to 80 percent the size of its larger mainland brethren. Fossils indicate it first arrived on the Mexican island around 5,000 years ago, predating the arrival of humans...

Programming submission time is almost here! Submissions will open on Wednesday July 1, 2026 and close on Sunday, July 26, 2026. We are accepting submissions for any of our three types of programming: panels, group discussions, and workshops, all of which will be hosted in two tracks on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the convention. Sessions are held in 50-minute blocks with a 10-minute break in between. After the submission period ends, attendees will be able to vote on what programming they want to see.

We have more information about the different programming types on our Dreamwidth, and you can brainstorm ideas in the comment section there if you would like.

SO when I saw that there is a lifesize statue of him at NA fanfest, I did what any reasonable person would do when confronted with this information: I very politely and calmly emailed square enix about it

("I thought it was extremely cool" translation: I was overcome by an avariciousness not known to man until that exact moment.)

Things I added after I took this screenshot because I thought it needed more embellishment:

- I would cherish him for a thousand years

- I would use him as an interesting coat stand

- or perhaps place him in windows to deter intruders

- If I cannot buy this priceless piece of FFXIV art, get him shipped all the way to the UK, and then delivered to my tiny flat, please please pleaaaase can you make a mini version with that much detail because at least five billion of us would buy one and you would make so much money

Anyway I expect one of three things to happen now:

1) I politely get told "sorry but no" (most likely)

or

2) My email goes in the trash (likely)

or

3) "Your email made us laugh so much so as a reward for being such a humorous individual okay sure he's going to put you into debt but sure" (unlikely)
