It also shows the commentors true colors. Illiteracy isn't a sign of someone being dumb, but either they have a real disability and then it's just ableism to make fun of someone because of it, or people lacked the means to learn - and then you shouldn't make fun of those people without access to proper education either. And we all know neither fits, Brady even went to college.

If you followed my blog for a bit I think it's clear that I am far from a fan, but I just hate those narrarives repeated to death when they're not even true. Neither of them is especially dumb or ugly, especially Matthew - you don't get almost 2000 works as the fav lil guy (abused bottom) when you're considered ugly as a default.

It could be a tool to grow a team because let’s be honest the same team (fuck sjs) keep winning the lottery. Like how did Flames, Canucks never won lottery at all ?

They also had compliment Bussi and how it could be inspiration to any undrafted / two way contract player, or player that didn’t really get to played much minute.

It's really comically (and sad) how many people want a Disney villain who checks all boxes - 100% evil, stupid, and ugly. Reality just isn't like that.

When M. was still a fav he needed to be insecure and abused so people could relate (but he was cute then!) and when he fell off he needed to become stupid and ugly.

Mattthew has always said that players - teammates included - should get their bag. When it wasn't clear if Benny and co resigned he always said they should take the money but he would love them to stay. He's usually someone who pumps his teammates' tires. He's good in a room.

There was that one podcast with a blind hockey player who specifially mentioned him as someone who helped him with his hockey career (others did too). He has many flaws, e.g I truly think he doesn't see women as equal to him and we don't need to talk about supporting Trump, but this Disney level of evil people want to assign to him is just false and frankly stupid. Makes all their arguments nill.

And last: fuck sjs for real, god I hate that team and all those players who are of course all 100% evil and ugly because I can't hate them just because. Oh they're all bad at hockey too.

also there attractiveness isn’t vital to their hockey so why does it matter. and frankly none of nhl players are a looker, most of them are just young and hockey handsome. they’re just another white guy on the street

But yep absolutely agree, those guys are not models or actors who live off their looks. Looks and even regular intelligence are not important for their profession and skills on the ice.

Yes it's so lame and annoying honestly. Add to that he and Brady are bad at hockey (and in Matthew's case even thinks he's bad at hockey because yes that man absolutely lacks self confidence)

He's one of the few players who enjoys being everywhere and he also doesn't care about how he's perceived in certain markets - but he's absolutely always on top of what he says and does. He's doing media in a really clever way. To pretend he isn't or that he's not the face of US hockey (because let's be real, who is more recognized than him for the US) is just laughable and shows rather that these guys are dumb.

After all those "the podcast caused so many issues in the Sens locker room" he goes on a different podcast and talks at length about how he was encouraged by Bill Zito to do the podcast in the first place.
