Making my argument why Within Temptation's The Unforgiving album is Sam Winchester coded. I have proof and I will not shut up because I love this band and SO many of their songs fit but especially this album in particular.

I've been left out alone like a damn criminal/I've been praying for help cause I can't take it all/I'm not done/It's not over < Sam's constantly called "the boy with demon blood" by the angels. Treated like something dirty or lesser, like a criminal. He does have faith though, out of the two brothers. He's prayed since he was a child. And between the two Winchesters, Sam is the one who almost never gives up. When push comes to shove, Dean loses hope sooner than Sam does. (S5, the Apocalypse. Dean's ready to give up but Sam refuses to)
Oh, I wish it was over/And I wish you were here < Giving Sam needing/wanting Dean vibes.
And I'm wondering why I still fight in this life/'Cause I've lost all my faith in this damn bitter strife < Sam's want for a normal life. His attempts to leave hunting always failing every time he tries.
In the Middle of the Night - second track:
I've been walking this road of desire/I've been begging for blood on the wall/I don't care if I'm playing with fire < Giving Sam's addiction to demon blood, knowing it's bad for him but not caring because the ends justify the means and he needs to do this. Dean's not strong enough/Dean shouldn't have to bear this burden too because he's been looking out for Sam all his life and it's not fair. Sam should bear the burden just this once.
No more tears, no, 'cause nothing else matters/I've been closing my eyes for too long/Only vengeance will make me feel better/There's no rest 'til I know that it's done < Again, giving s4 Sam vibes. His need to kill Lilith trumping everything else. He's gone to far and can't stop.
Fire and Ice - fourth track:
Every word you're saying is a lie/Run away my dear/But every sign will say your heart is dead < Sam/Ruby vibes here. Ruby's lying to him, manipulating him, leading him along. (s4 Ruby specifically. s3 Ruby is awesome)
Bury all the memories/Cover them with dirt/Where's the love we once had? < Sam trying to forget Ruby because she was bad for him. Toxic and manipulative but there was something there. She did save his life, keep him from killing himself on a hunt after Dean died.
Where's the love we once had?/Is it all a lie? < Did Ruby ever love him? Was it a lie? Was it fake? Or was it actually real? Which is worse?
Iron - fifth track:
You can't live without the fire/It's the heat that makes you strong/'Cause you're born to live and fight it all the way < Sam codeeedddddd. No matter how much he wants a normal life he is a hunter.
Raised in this madness, you're on your own/It made you fearless, nothing to lose/Dreams are a drug here, they get in your way < Sam was raised to be a hunter. He never knew anything else but he still dreamed of getting out and having a normal life. Not that it ever worked out for him:(

Literally just a more dramatic description of hunting let's be honest. Just change Hell to Purgatory for everything aside from demons.
Where is the Edge - sixth track:

Where is the edge/Of your darkest emotions?/Why does it all survive?/Where is the light/Of your deepest devotions?/I pray that it's still alive < All of this reminds me of Sam's struggles with himself. With the darkness in him but also the good. Between what's in his blood and what he wants to be.
So much more that you've got left to fight for/But it still doesn't change who you are < Sam's always fighting for the world and for Dean right?
You can't stop yourself/Don't want to feel/Don't want to see what you've become < S4 finale Sam vibes right here.
You can't walk away/From who you are/Never give in < Can't walk away from hunting. Always living in fear of becoming something bad. Always trying to escape being "the boy with demon blood" or "the boy king of hell."

She's haunting my dreamworld, trying to survive < Jess haunts Sam's dreams in the first season.
A Demon's Fate- tenth track:
Angels have faith/I don't want to be a part of his sin/I don't want to get lost in his world/I'm not playing this game < Sam in the cage with Lucifer vibes
When the shadows remain in the light of day/On the wings of darkness he'll retaliate/He'll be falling from grace/Until the end of all his days < This is more just Lucifer vibes but still.
