An app for the chronic ill
So, Im a computer science major and I was thinking about making an app to help us. The features I was considering adding are:
- Alarm for taking med (with a counter of how many med you have left and a double reminder for when you forgot to take your med but you check you did)
- A laboratory database (where you can compare your results in a char)
- Adding symptoms (old or new that you are feeling on your daily life)
that’s all i have for now. Please tell me suggestion and ask me anything, this app is for us.
It’s okay to take care of your mental health.

I know so many healthy/abled people who haven’t been to see any doctor other than a GP or PCP in years and thats such a fucked up concept to me. like what do you mean you don’t have 20 specialists that you’re forced to see on a regular basis in order to not die??? what the fuck?!?
Chronic problem #00009
Telling everyone automatically you are just tired when they ask you how you are because you don’t have the energy to explain them what’s really going in your life
hey if ur reading this and ur in a bad spot mentally or anything i hope u feel better soon and have a good day
how dare my skin break out just because of my terrible diet and total disregard of regimented skincare

I want to be average. No, hear me out. Don’t tell me average is overrated. Don’t tell me normality is a paved road, but no flowers grow there. Healthy people take normality for granted. When I say I want to be average, I’m saying I wish I were healthy. I’m telling you that my ups and downs don’t make my life exciting. Not knowing what tomorrow will bring isn’t a goddamn adventure where things never get boring. Being chronically ill is bullshit. Aspirations and goals from when I was a kid, thrown out the window. There are things I will probably NEVER be able to experience because my own body fails me all the time, and you know what? Bad days feel like a straight jacket, being trapped in a body that’s defective while I lose weeks of my life to this illness. I’ve grown to hate inspirational quotes because they feel like a slap in the face. What doesn’t kill me leaves me unable to function for days on end. Trying my hardest is still nowhere near keeping up with everyone around me. So don’t tell me that I wouldn’t be who I am today without my suffering, or that going through challenges is supposed to give me a greater appreciation for the small things in life. Don’t tell me to be happy with the body I have because someone else has it worse. And most of all, don’t you dare say that having an average life is overrated. You don’t know what I’d give.

Me: hey insurance company, do you think you can pay for these very important treatments, if i dont get them I’ll either end up bed ridden or dead
Insurance:
Topamax users
Anyone that uses it (migraines, seizures, bipolar disorder, etc) and experienced major hair loss, how did you deal with it? Any vitamins or treatments you tried that worked???
I almost lost all my hair, my doctor recomended taking brewers yeast, its a vitamin, you will see results after two or three months after taking it two times a day. It help me with the hair lost a lot but its no miraculous. Hope it works really well in you.
My fucking hero forever.
Forever my queen
Finals for spoonies
Finals are coming up so please keep a few things in mind:
Use your accommodations if you have them and try not to feel guilt or shame for using them
Communicate with your professors. Most of the time they will be understanding.
Try to get enough sleep.
Your health is more important than your grades. Never sacrifice the latter for the former.
It’s okay if you don’t get the same grade as your healthy counterparts. You’re going through a lot both before and during the test.
You all are going to do the best you can and that’s enough! Now go out there and kick those finals’ butts!
Me: Forgets my meds for a couple of days.
Brain: LET'S PRETEND I'M A ROLLERCOASTER
