Came across this art installation, Liza Lou's Kitchen, at the Whitney Museum of American Art, NYC. It's a kitchen made of tiny glass beads, that artist Liza Lou did, taking 5 yrs. to complete, from 1991 - 1996.
My favorite part is the sink.

sat for my calc3 exam yesterday afternoon. i know i made at least one stupid mistake on a multiple choice question and guessed another one and wasn’t able to solve one of the integrals, but, that aside, knew how to do everything. i hope it’s enough to pass and that i didn’t make too many mistakes , we’ll see🤞
time to wind down and enjoy summer ☀️🌊
📓 The Third Realm, by Karl Ove Knausgaard (obsessed, need to read everything he has ever written right this second)

Ireland is soft and sweet
I start a new job tomorrow and have been coping by exploring cafes in my new town and reading what brought me so much joy in childhood, classic fantasy with Mercedes Lackey’s Magic’s Pawn. My first job since graduating with my Master’s!
Do you guys wanna see my most recently finished embroidery uh yeah you do

Summer!! Despite the heat I’m so happy to be here. I’m reading for my own enjoyment and at my own pace. I’m not rushing to be anywhere or do anything. I wish life could always be this sweet
A week in fiber arts, local businesses, and plans for future projects.
Also, this donkey shaped ginger is my new reason to live. Just look at it!
here's a secret: whatever you're doing, you have to root for your peers with all your heart because it forces you to root for yourself too. I've seen people in various spheres of my life (workplaces, education, art, activism) fall into the trap of envy and resentment when they see others succeed while they struggle, and it always always goes hand in hand with them pulling back and giving up and stagnating.
when you let yourself get sour grapes about shit, you tacitly give up on yourself. when you sit around hoping other people will flop and fail so you can catch up to them, you stop trying. it's a fantasy of mediocrity, the vain wish that other people would walk so you could take the gold medal at a jog. wouldn't you rather come last place at 27mph?
2 hours spent at the library to offset scrolling for far too long on Tumblr these past couple of days.
Literary festival side quest ft. strawberry and lime juice to combat the heat, tapetes de Arraiolos, and the biggest pumpkins I've ever seen (not pictured, I was too busy talking to the vendor behind the stand)

anatomy of my 2026 summer tote bag
A little side quest today?
Some arts and local produce markets, some journaling while sitting in the shade, and two scoops of ice cream.
It's officially summer break.
"There's no hope for the future." And that's how they felt during the Atomic Age, during the World Wars, during the Enlightenment Revolutions, during thr plagues, during the Viking raids, during the fall of Rome.
Yet, we persisted.
CS Lewis had something to say about this
Been feeling a bit hopeless of late. Wasn't expecting to stumble across a quote that would fundamentally alter my perspective and make me cry during my lunch break but here we are
This is an excellent sentiment.
Soooo... I took my last exam today. As in the last exam of this degree, the last time I'll probably step foot in my university (for a while at least, I might come back for a master's in a few years).
I don't know how I feel? Excited, relieved, nostalgic, proud? I'm still trying to process it.
I took myself to a plant nursery and picked up some berries, tea and basil. I'll have a lot more time to care for my veggie garden now.
So yeah, here's to a new chapter ig.

This used to be a thing a while ago and I really wanted to bring it back, so here's ✨a bingo tag game for ya✨
Rules: mark all that apply to you and see if you get a bingo :D Then make a bingo card of your own (I used this website) and tag whoever you want to join the game!
@ceciliasinmapockett @lost-rxverie @studyblrspace @stargazerbibi @hydroflouricacid @studiousandrogynousfox-blog @winryrockbellwannabe @getbreaded @cyberstudious if you guys wanna play with me 👉👈
Thank youuuu for the tag!! This was so fun :')
Almost got a bingo, but the sudoku didn't allow it ( I was soooo tempted to mark it, because I do them from time to time, but I'm fonder of letter soups and crosswords).
As someone who was alive when Bob Ross (and William Alexander before him — that’s where the approach is from) was on PBS, I can 100% testify that you can paint along with him.
You may need to learn how to set up your paints and such… but this is what people did, live, while the show aired. That’s what the show was for. I had family members create lovely works of art they enjoyed, which I still have on my walls, because William Alexander and Bob Ross both said:
SCREW METICULOUS CLASSICAL ART PRACTICES — JUST GRAB A PALETTE KNIFE AND BIG OLD BRUSH AND PAINT!
They freed a whole generation of people who were taught to paint detail and realism and exact representation of reality — people who largely gave up this kind of thing because it got tedious.
I watched the joy of family members as they rediscovered art as a messy fun spontaneous half hour activity.
Give it a try.
