#I’ve been crying a lot lately because I’m just so lonely in this new city :(#I tried signing up for French classes and they put me on a liste d'attente... I tried an anglophone book club but apparently they are full…#I could go on and on. It feels like every effort I put into meeting new people in this city is just an embarrassment ritual#The timing is terrible because even when I reach out to my friends everyone seems too busy with their own issues#and all this loneliness has made me carry the sadness of the world on my shoulders#This week I’ve been seeing so many sad French psychology students post TikToks about getting no acceptances into psych masters programs#Genuinely made me cry thinking how much effort they put in only for these programs to have 2-20 places. It’s ridiculous#and there is so much going on in the world even beyond my little student bubble. I’ve been tiring myself so much crying over everything#And on top of it my terrible ex is using my home address in Ireland to open credit cards and tax things so I was forced to mediate-#between him and my confused parents. He didn’t even ask if he could use my address. I don’t want to talk to him it all makes me so mad…#So much more I could go on about- but tonight was the start of things getting better.#My sweetheart arranged a dinner with some nice colleagues of his for me to meet them and gosh it was SO lovely :(((#when we came back home I had a long hour call with my parents catching up and I didn’t realise how much I miss them#I try to focus on the positives on this blog but studying abroad can be so isolating like this… I really want to be transparent here#When I moved to Bordeaux in 2022 I used this little tumblr blog as a comfort in my loneliness#and now in 2026 it’s still a little safe space to document what I’m studying or my frustrations or what books I’m reading#If you’re also going through loneliness or literally anything else please know things will get so much better#I was knocked down these last few weeks but I will get up and see this weekend what else I can sign up for#Life goes on :) Have a nice weekend you all!
