I bet our entire universe is in a tiny glass jar placed neatly on a shelf in some alien child’s room as a science project he got a C on.
And I bet the reason why we haven't died yet is because the child has completly forgotten about this glass jar because otherwise we would have been dead as our world would have been smashed againts the glass as the alien child would have used it to play football or something. We're alive because of chance, nothing more.
I was discussing anime with some friends and my friend who studied sports medicine/biology explained the significance of each of the Free! characters’ physical builds.
Rei has trouble swimming because as a track runner/pole vaulter, he has really high muscle density and that’s what causes him to sink even though his form is perfect, and to fix this he needs to gain more fat. The butterfly stroke relies heavily on upper body strength though, and this is why it’s the only one he can do.
Nagisa gains an advantage from his height because his short limbs allow him to rotate his arms faster for a faster breast stroke.
Conversely, Makoto’s tallness helps him because the backstroke is a long-axis stroke, so longer arms make him swim farther and faster with less exertion.
Freestyle, or the front crawl, is also a long-axis stroke, so again being tall helps. Rin is more powerfully built than Haru and his flip turns boost him a lot farther, but being less bulky makes it easier for Haru to catch up, so they’re pretty evenly matched.
KyoAni really did their homework.
As a competitive swimmer, i must say that this is all completely true and we should praise kyoani for their skills

Painting from Nature with @hannahjesus
For more of Hannah’s paintings from nature, follow @hannahjesus on Instagram.
Hannah Jesus Koh (@hannahjesus), a high school art teacher from the San Francisco Bay Area in California, uses water from the nature around her to capture landscapes through watercolor painting.
Her technique came about at the base of Iceland’s Gullfoss waterfall when, armed with her journal and watercolor paints, she realized she’d forgotten the water. “But the dense mists off the waterfall heavily saturated my surroundings,” she tells, “and that was all the water I needed to render the scene. I collected some with my fingers and used them and my brush to paint. Sometimes I ran my brush directly onto the droplet-laden blades of grass.”
Since that moment, incorporating the water from her environment into her art has become as meaningful as the landscapes she paints. “It’s nice to know an elemental part of the scene will always be a literal part of my painting,” Hannah explains. “The salty Arctic sea spray is infused into my painting of Dyrhólaey. Drops from the largest ocean on Earth permeate my small painting of the Golden Gate Bridge. The Pacific Northwest rain rains into my painting of Multnomah Falls. And cheap black coffee from a hole-in-the-wall joint in Brooklyn colors in the bricks of the Brooklyn Bridge.”

You have to accept that some people are not made for deep conversations, or for holding you together when you’re about to fall apart, or for keeping you from unzipping your skin, or for talking you out of suicide, or to love you through the worst moments of your life. Some people are made for shallow exchanges, and ridiculous banter, and nothing more. And that’s okay. That doesn’t make them horrible people because they simply aren’t able to handle a storm like you. It doesn’t make you a bad person because you won’t divulge all the gritty details of your horror show. It makes you smart. You have to accept that there will be people that cannot give you what you need. It doesn’t mean they are not worth keeping in your life. You just have to figure out who these ones are before you’re disappointed. And you have to keep them at arm’s length. You cannot expect everyone in your life to understand, to be nonjudgmental, to get it. But that’s okay, because not everyone was made to impart wisdom, or wax-poetic, or speak on politics and the depravity of society, or discuss how crucial it is that the stigma of mental illness be abolished. There are times when you have to get away from all that heaviness. You have to. And you will need superficial conversation about Kim Kardashian’s arse, or a debate on the colour of The Dress. You will need those ones. So don’t go round cutting people off and dropping your friends. You need people for all your seasons. You need people or you won’t survive this.
