Week 3 of CHEWING THE CUD | 100 DAYS OF SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Failed miserably to keep up with the daily doodles during my trip to Bangalore with only two artworks the entire week. Hoping to get back the rhythm as I settle into my new job at Chennai.

Day 13: Aesthetic Consumerism and the Violence of Photography: What Susan Sontag Teaches Us about Visual Culture and the Social Web
Day 14: Of freedom fighters and forgotten heroes: How India airbrushes its past to whitewash its present
Chewing the cud | 100 days of something to think about
After much procrastination, I finally began my 100 days project. It is a tiny attempt to daily reflect upon subjects that I find meaningful and want to develop a better understanding about through long form nonfiction essays, news articles, podcasts, lectures, documentaries etc.
Here’s what I plan to do: Read/Watch/Listen something everyday, doodle the lines that stand out to me or summarize the issue and share.
Drawing enables slowing down the eye that is tempted to skim through text and move on to the next tab and will hopefully, also help in sustaining my interest in the project over time.
Here are some drawings from Week One. Missed one day, but otherwise going good.
Day 01: The Instigator: A Portrait of Nivedita Menon by Neha Dixit.
Day 02: Religion: Opium of the Masses by Khushwant Singh, published by Orient Paperbacks
Day 03: How ‘Empowerment’ Became Something for Women to Buy by Jia Tolentino
Day 04: Caste on Your Plate by Parul Agrawal.
Day 05: Gaza goes back to school by Jehan Bseiso from ‘A rose breaking out of steel and blood’ Palestinian poems published by Parikalpana Prakashan.
Day 06: The Secular Bikini: The beachwear and the Republic by Mukul Kesavan.

Her strict all-carb diet was gone in less than 3 minutes. And here I thought cows couldn't do any thing quickly 😱😏🐄 #moooverBolt #fastandfurious #morninggrub #cowsofindia #BhagwatitheCow #cowsofinstagram #chewingthecud #Kolkatatimes #IncredibleIndia (at Kolkata, India)
Not envying views just because I'm a Hindu
Sometimes I wish I had the power to chew the cud like cows do, so I can re-eat some of last night’s pizza.
Don't we all think about the perfect caption? We run it over and over and over in our heads before settling on one. #chewingthecud
