Crimson Peak 2015, dir. Guillermo del Toro
if youre in the US (especially the northeast + michigan) i would avoid bagged salads/greens and generally wash your produce very thoroughly unless you want the diarrhea parasite
Michigan is experiencing its largest outbreak of a parasitic infection that causes severe diarrhea. Nearly 1,000 people have been diagnosed
this is not life-threatening, but also who wants weeks of diarrhea and a fucking parasite in them lol. if you suspect you've already had this and it's passed, i would see a doctor. you might need an antiparasitic anyway. if you're actively sick, see a doctor and they might be able to prescribe medication to help you get over it faster.
try to avoid eating raw vegetables, scrub fruit with a produce brush and rinse thoroughly with water. again, don't bother with premade greens or bagged salads. if you buy lettuce, remove the outer 2-3 layers of leaves.
there are UNVERIFIED rumors that the greens have been linked to a company that sources to taco bell. some locations have been actively pulling fresh ingredients like lettuce, avocado, and pico de gallo to mitigate the threat, so i would avoid any products from them just in case. considering how vast supply chains are, i'd be wary of any fast food greens in general for now.
Two days in a row and still nothing! And a couple weeks ago, AND again a few days before that. give me my thunderstorm!!!
Working an office job will truly make you have the wildest enemies, bc why is my nemesis rn a woman I’ve never met and who exclusively haunts me by sending diabolical emails, and also a specific guy who left my company before I even worked here and made the system so fuckass that it ruined procedures for like a year
Yesterday my nemesis (woman I’ve never met and whose face I’ve never seen) sent my office an email so rude, basically saying we had fucked up every project she ever ordered from us, one of the worst emails I’ve ever read in my life.
And it pissed me off so badly that I spent the ENTIRE WORK DAY today compiling evidence from every project my team has ever done for her, pulling past emails she’d sent us, putting together an entire case proving that she had been the problem all along. That she got projects mixed up, that she’d made requests that were nonsensical, literally everything you could possibly imagine. Screenshots of emails, reports we’d submitted, EVERYTHING.
This woman in particular has been terrorizing my team for years, her name is almost a slur in my office, I had simply had ENOUGH of her.
I put all of this evidence together and sent it to all of my bosses at 4:30pm. Then I took a long break to eat a sweet treat and drink some tea.
After my break, my bosses all called in an emergency meeting with me and they said they read my report and fucking loved it. And I sat on a teams call with my boss’ boss as she wrote my nemesis the scathing email I had always fantasized about sending, using the evidence I’d compiled, and hit send.
It was the most satisfying workday I’ve had since I got hired.

How long have you been on Tumblr?
Over 16 years (before 2010) (toddlers in the dawn of the ant colony)
16 to 14 years (2010-2012) (livejournal and Myspace refugees)
13 to 11 years (2013-2015) (you used to follow thebootydiaries)
10 to 8 years (2016-2018) (era of Russian bot conspiracy)
7 to 3.5 years (2019-2022) (post sex ban to Goncharov)
3.5 years or less (2023–2026) (Twitter refugee)
Rebagel for science pls.
Some last minute birthday pictures. I’m soo not used to being in front of a legitimate camera lol, I’ve gotten used to phone cameras.
I hope the nervous awkwardness isn’t apparent in my face😬

me as a teenager: man it sucks to have no privacy or autonomy but i guess its for a good reason. when i turn 18 i will realise how young i was and understand why they did all that.
me as an adult: teenagers are an oppressed class, their abuse is normalised and systemic and they need to start killing people
for real tho it feels exhausting that ive seen this whole "woman should be allowed to abstain from X beauty standard" -> "i perform X beauty standard, am i evil? do you think im evil? please forgive me i came up with a dozen excuses 🥺" since like 2015 (and i know its been going on longer than that) like girl thats not the poiiiiint
look me in the eyes. repeat after me. "i face societal pressure to perform this beauty standard. i should not face that pressure. i conform to this standard. i am rewarded for performing to this standard. i need to respect women who do not perform this standard. this is not about whether or not i am a sinner for wearing makeup."
Bluesky age verification
I just now opened bluesky to use social media as one does and got asked to verify my age.
That says "verify again" because I bit the bullet to see what they'd ask of me in the email of how to prove my age.
I haven't clicked this one yet and I don't think I will be doing so any time soon, as I immediately googled "Is KWS safe" and on reddit from a post over a year ago explains it will take a ton of your information. It stands for 'kids web services' and they're transparent about what they use or want on their website. I still dont trust it though.
The short of it is it seems it will ask you for ID and credit/debit card information to prove your age as well as a picture of your face. We all know the issue with face cams/pictures already I imagine. Short answer to that is its easy to trick but also very dumb and will say a young looking adult is under 18.
I will not be selling my digital soul to this machine and I don't think you should either so I guess this means I'll just go do anything else except be on bluesky. Which sucks because recently I had been having a fun time reaching out to some small fandom community and interacting with some artists.
This reddit post seems to have more updated information as it is recent. Im still confused on if its a Texas or United States thing though. People are debating and noting that its Bluesky's choice on the matter and one commenter's wife suggested that you make your complaints heard to bluesky.
GITHUB HELP THAT FIXED MY ISSUE
I use firefox so I basically used the ublock origin method of adding specific filters.
The popularity of the "incompetent stupid piece of shit husband and competent wife who loves him anyways" trope in media is a psyop to make women believe its normal to settle for an incompetent stupid piece of shit husband
my most ungrounded and unresearched fear is that so many companies are pushing AI in part because it builds them a pathway towards a subscription model for a huge number of things that should not be subscription, but theoretically could be:
do you want to talk to verizon's help desk because there's an error on your bill? to access a real agent, you have to pay for Verizon Access+, only 5.99 a month.
want to filter out all the fake job postings from the real ones? subscribe to Indeed: Advanced Tactics and only verified postings will appear on your dash.
sick of the infinite ai slop? buy Google Premium; it'll automatically detect ai within a site and gives it a credibility score. with premium plus, you can shuffle high-credibility results to the top.
do you want a "luxury" experience? well, you'd have to pay for that luxury, and since the company sure doesn't want to pay its employees; the cost would fall to the consumer.
when automation has made every experience unpleasant; the experience of genuine humanity will be commodified.
This is already happening – one of the softwares used by a museum I work at only lets you talk to a human help agent if you have their premium subscription. It's such bullshit
the fact you are not the only one in these notes saying "no this is already happening; i have to pay money to speak to a representative" is just... really awesome! you said a software used by museums is doing this shit? okay! great! wonderful!! anybody know where i can scream

Public Instagram users, heads up -- Meta just made your images available for AI use.
This reached me through a newsletter I subscribe to (Daily Tech Insider -- I don't know that I recommend it, it's kind of spammy, but does occasionally provide useful intel on AI) and I couldn't find a public version of it to link to so I'mma just copypaste the newsletter's content here:
Meta just launched Muse Image, its new AI image generator, across Instagram, WhatsApp, and the Meta AI app. It edits photos, generates social-ready images, and powers new Instagram Stories effects. Public Instagram accounts are automatically eligible for AI remixing. Someone can tag a public profile and create new images using that person's photos. Meta says users can opt out (currently only on mobile), but the default leaves photos in play. Worse, users aren't notified when AI content is created with their material, and opting out won't delete images that already exist. Meta is, however, applying an invisible "Content Seal" watermark to track AI origins, and a detection tool is available online for anyone to check images.
The detection tool is actually slightly useful, in that if you want to check if an image is AI generated you can pop it in there, but it will only tell you if it was AI generated through Muse Image. According to Meta, "Images created by Muse Image in the Meta AI app [...] carry a hidden provenance signal that stays intact — even when cropped, compressed, resized, or screenshotted." Which honestly just means that anyone seeking to use AI images for nefarious purposes won't use Meta, and we'll see how long the content seal protocol lasts before Meta wants higher traffic and does away with it.
