ASH MENTION!!!!! Visually stunning movie. Some dodgy CGI, but WOW those colors!! Really wish more movies weren’t afraid to use bright saturated colors like that. Incredible soundtrack too.

I thought it was fun! It was neat to see in a theater! Flying Lotus does great scores especially for his own stuff

What would you say are the trends in 2020s horror?

I’d say a big one is not necessarily nostalgia but a kind of deconstruction of it. You’ve got semi sequels (the new Halloween trilogy, Chucky series, the Screams), reimaginings (IWTV, a whole host of Dracula and Carmilla book retellings), legacy works (Queens of the Dead), whatever the fuck Texas Chainsaw 22 was, the 28 Years

Of course you have the stuff that stems from internet culture: Skinamarink, Backrooms, Talk to Me, Dead Stream, Host.

You’ve got a black horror boom: His House, Master, The Angry Black Girl and Her Monster, The Blackening.

Vampires have of course come back in a big way (The Invitation, Last Voyage of the Demeter, Castlevania, The Lost Boys, Abigail)
