while I wholeheartedly agree that Crowley and Aziraphale are both moron4moron, I couldn’t stop thinking about this.

Crowley could find Aziraphale anywhere on Earth. He storms into the burning bookshop and looks through it a little, but definitely not thoroughly enough to say for certain that it’s empty. He just already knows Aziraphale isn’t there. That Aziraphale isn’t anywhere on Earth. Which is why he comes so quickly to the conclusion that Aziraphale is dead.
