Tickly Confessions (Pokemon SoulSilver)
Hiyo! So, I wrote this fic after rediscovering my love for Pokemon SoulSilver! Back when I was really into the manga and Pokemon ships, I absolutely adored Soulsilvershipping, so this is where this fic has risen from!
Quick Disclaimers:Ā āLyraā will be referred to asĀ āSoulā in this fic. I like the name better, honestly. Also, Silver in this fic is Manga!Silver- again, I prefer this Silver over the Rival!Silver, plus I think for this fic, Manga!Silver fits better.
Soul smiled as she laid back against the tall oak tree, closing her eyes as the soft sunlight caressed her peaceful face. The wind gently played with the loose strands of brown hair that fell from her pigtails and danced with them in the blowing wind. Beside her, her Chikorita was curled up against her hip, Itās long green leaf over its eyes as it made soft snoring noises.
Silver felt his heart squeeze immensely as he sat beside the girl, trying to remember how to breathe. It truly amazed him just how relaxed she could become no matter where they were. At the moment, the two had just finished their battle, Totodile putting up a decent fight but could not defeat Chikorita. The redhead figured he should be irritated, but honestly, he just liked being close to Soul. Regardless if he wins or not, he always secretly loved running into her, whether it was at a Pokemon Center or just out in the wild. She made his day that much better.
Because you like her. You like her alot. A little voice inside his head pointed out.
The redhead could feel his face heating up suddenly, and pressed his gloved hands over his blushing cheeks, praying to Arceus that Soul wouldnāt look over at that moment. What the hell was all that? Unfortunately for him, the godlike Pokemon was not on his side, and Soul cracked one eye open, looking over at the quiet redhead. āHm? Whatās up? Why are you covering your face, Silver?āĀ
The redhead froze, caught by the pretty girl staring at him. He willed his body to stop blushing, but he could feel his face heat up even more. āErā¦itās nothing. Iām alright.ā He said, hating how trembly his voice suddenly sounded. He could feel Soul shift behind him, feel her brown eyes studying him with silent curiosity. āHmm..you donāt seem alright. Youāre hiding from me.ā She reached over and gave him a poke to the side. āDid I do something wrongā¦ā She trailed off, momentarily distracted when Silver yelped, jerking at her poke. The silence was charged, and Silver closed his eyes, pleading with any mythical Pokemon listening.
Well, if any were listening, they simply didnāt care.
āSoul.ā Silver said, turning to face the girl.
āYouāre ticklish.ā She stated, her eyes alight with mischief.Ā
Silver eyed her warily, arms coming up to protect his torso.Ā āMaybe a little bitā¦wait, no! Soul!ā He barely got out the words before the other trainer pounced, hands immediately latching onto his torso and gently squeezing his sides and waist. The redhead squeaked and immediately tried to curl up on himself, laughing helplessly as Soul kept up her playful attack.
āHehehahhahahahhah! Sohohohohul! Wahhahahahit!ā Silver pleaded, trying to squirm away. Soul was determined, however, and had pinned the redhead beneath her with ease. āHehe, youāre laughās so cute, Silv! And look at that smile! What a lovely expression!ā She cooed softly, making Silverās already flushed cheeks darker. He tried to reach up and cover his face, but her hands slipped under his arms, making him shoot down with a howl. āAH! NOHOHOHOHOHO! SOOHOHOHOHOHOUL!ā He pleaded the girl, completely helpless under her. Soul cackled gleefully, her eyes shining with joy. āIām not stopping until you tell me what youāre hiding, Silver! I want to know!ā She cheered. āNEHEHEHEHVER!ā Silver cried, a squeal escaping when she moved to his stomach, scratching against his coat. āHehe, smile for me!ā She gently teased, grinning.
Finally, the redhead broke, pleading for mercy when she moved down to his knees. āOHOHOHKAY! OHHOKAHAY! ILL TEHEHHEL YOUHUHU!ā Soul smiled and stopped her assault, sitting back on her heels as she waited patiently for the other trainer to recover. Silver laid there, gasping for air as he reached up, wiping tears of mirth from his eyes. He knew he had to tell her; he was a man of his word. He waited a few seconds before sitting up, red hair falling into unusually light grey eyes. He reached up and fiddled with his fringe. He was procrastinating. Arceus, why was it so hard to just say it!?
āIā¦I like you, Soul. Alot.ā He got out, fiddling with his gloved fingers as he spoke, feeling his face warm once again. āI like spending time with you, and it makes me happy to run into you whenever we cross paths. I think youāre a great trainer and a wonderful person and I really, really like you!ā There, he said it! He finally confessed his feelings. He fiddled with his hands, pretending that the misty lens over them was from the residue tickly tears and not from the annoying habit of tearing up whenever he finally spoke his heart.
It was quiet, the only sound between the two was the wind and the gentle snores of Soulās Chikarita. How the hell did she sleep through this entire event still confused the redhead. He held his breath, waiting for Soulās reaction. Was her silence a rejection? Oh god, did he scare her off? He was scared to look up, scared to see if sheād be gone when he did.
āSilverā¦ā He jumped, her voice shaking him from his spiraling thoughts. āLook at me.ā Soulās gentle voice felt like a warm caress, lifting his chin and making him meet her eyes. The girl watched him thoughtfully, her eyes warm, before a genuine, lovely smile crossed her lips. āI like you too. I want to spend more time with you as well.ā Her cheeks warmed as well, and she reached out and gently took his hand in hers. āMay Iā¦can I kiss you?ā He asked softly. Soul nodded, and Silver leaned in, gently capturing her lips on his own.
The kiss was sweet, filling Silverās body with a warmth he hadnāt felt in a long time. It was the kind of warmth that made him feel, for the briefest of moments, safe. It also made his heart soar and his toes curl with how light he felt.
They pulled away, breathless and blushing. Soul smiled, and Silver reached up, gently playing with the fringe of her hair, pushing it behind her ears. He pressed his forehead against hers, and Soul closed her eyes, her hand coming up and pulling him close.
The two stayed like this against the tall tree, eyes closed and content. Soul played with the soft strands of red hair as Silver rested his head onto hers, warm and happy.
