Pyro wears this hoodie in Chapter 2 of my fic. It's based on the Poke Kid hoodie from D/P/P, along with Brendan's contest outfit in ORAS (the latter inspiration is also its inspiration in-universe).

Cinder is a cheerful little Charmander and Pyro's childhood buddy! Who he happened to steal. Though Pyro knew Cinder for a long time- paling around with him around the lab in his hometown- he had to steal him from the lab when he ran away from home. Cinder copies people and Pokemon he likes or looks up to. He sits on Cinder's back to imitate Ash's Pikachu. Also- though technically born a female- he imitates the behavior of a male Charmander or Pyro himself. It's hard to measure a Charmander's gender identity- compared to, say, a Lucario- but it's safe to say he's trans just like his Trainer!

Quick Ball
Scarlett is a powerful Houndoom who Pyro threw a Quick Ball at and happened to get lucky. She doesn't listen to a word he says, as she finds him an unworthy and stupid Trainer. To make things worse, his region doesn't have gyms. So it'll take pure effort and kindness to win her over. Luckily for Cinder, Scarlett doesn't mind him, and lets him ride around on her back.
These are Pyro's only two Pokemon right now. He's a Fire-type specialist with a focus on creative battling. So I'll keep that in mind as the rest of his team falls into place.
Revising some stuff with my Pokemon OC Pyro and wrote something like "he'd be into her if he liked girls, but he wasn't sure what he liked".
