Cold Stone Creamery Shark Week Desserts
Introduced: July 2013, July 2015, July 2017
Location: Cold Stone Creamery
To celebrate Discovery Channel's shark-centric summer programming Shark Week, Cold Stone Creamery released a range of frozen treats that bit back, each only available during the titular week.
This included a signature Shark Week-themed Creation, Shark Week Frenzy, a blue sweet cream ice cream mixed with graham cracker pie crust 'sand' and topped with gummy sharks.
For cake lovers, Shark Week Frenzy became This Cake Bites, a Devil's Food and blue sweet cream ice cream cake with oreo cookies, frosted with blue icing and topped with a school of gummy sharks and surrounded at the base with graham cracker crust meant to resemble the ocean floor or the beach.
Cold Stone would rerelease the Shark Week treats for the several years, replacing the larger cake with a more manageable-sized Great Blue Cupcake in 2014. The cupcake came in a chocolate cup shell with blue sweet cream ice cream, yellow cake, and a topper of blue icing and- of course- a gummy shark.
In 2017, the Shark Week Frenzy became the Great White Bite, a sea salt sweet cream ice cream with strawberry chunks, graham cracker pie crust, and, say it with me, gummy sharks. The Great Blue Cupcake turned into the Deep Sea Delight, the chocolate cup shell now filled with Devil's Food cake, sea salt sweet cream ice cream, and strawberry puree and topped with blue icing, graham cracker pie crust, gummy shark, and a chocolate medallion featuring the Shark Week logo.
Cold Stone continues to offer the Shark Week desserts each year, so there's no telling what will swim up next.
