Hi yall!!! I figured it's finally time for me to make a pinned intro post!

I am a kemetic pagan and my worship revolves around Bast, Anup, Sutekh, and Aset. I have been following the path of paganism for about 7 years and probably within the past two years I started considering myself to be kemetic!

I'm very queer and use they/them pronouns.

I'm an anthropology student and am pursuing a career in archaeology, specifically CRM.

On this blog I post about kemetism, paganism, witchcraft, archaeology, anthropology, and things that make me think of the divine. While I only actively worship the Kemetic pantheon I still reblog stuff abt other pantheons :))

Science is spiritual!

Learning how the world works doesn’t strip it of magic, it reveals even more of it. The more I understand the universe, the more sacred it feels.

Science actually helped me become more spiritual. I noticed the intersections and how science seemed to push spirituality, in some sense. For me, it helped me understand some of the concepts in the religion I follow like Lyma versus Miasma.

I love the casual substitution of "gods" instead of "god" in colloquial sayings. "oh my gods" "gods, my feet hurt" etc etc. like yeah deconstruct the societal standard of monotheism with me. let's party

At the risk of sounding anti-intellectual, I think that college should be free and also not a requirement for employment outside of highly specialized career fields

At the risk of sounding like an effete intellectual, I do actually think you should be allowed to just take college courses indefinitely

im just so happy i live in a time period where actual meaningful biological transition is possible. even if we lose rights or the ability to exist in public, nothing can turn back the clock on that, and just by having any sort of access to that our lives are made immensely better. millions of our sisters throughout history would never have dreamed of a day where they could have what HRT does for us.

It's always hard reading about the violence committed to steal America, but the buffalo is always like... That's some inhuman shit. Everyone is burning in hell for that one. Wdym there were thirty to sixty MILLION buffalo in 1800, and by 1900 there were only 300 left. THREE HUNDRED. I'm experimenting with fusing my art style with the art style of ancient Egypt and incorporating it into my designs of the Egyptian gods. This is just some concept art of a few random gods.

For anyone who's curious: Horus's face shape is based on a bust of Narmer, the first ever Egyptian Pharoah, Isis's face is based on carvings and paintings of Queen Nefertiti, Ptah's face is based on a statue of Merenptah and Sobek is based a statue of Sobekhotep IV.
