I’m a 23 year old queer poc living in the Bronx, NY who is also disabled (bipolar schizophrenic with PTSD) I’m on disability benefits, but the American government sucks, horribly. Since I don’t have the money to pay exactly half the rent in my dad’s $2000 a month apartment, they take 1/3 of my disability benefits every month. This leaves me about $300 a month to survive on - to buy household items, medical supplies, food, and everything else I need. I’m living in an emotionally abusive and hostile environment that entirely drains me with my mental disability. I desperately need money to move to a state where the cost of living is what I can afford, so that I can stay out of New York City’s dangerous section 8 housing, in an environment that is safe, where I have lots of support.
