When there's no cops around, anything is legal!

lets be real, mauls bed has simple black sheets and a singular pillow (made out of some material that keeps his horns from ripping it apart)

zabraks have 2 hearts, so im going to assume maul runs a lot hotter because his blood pressure is significantly higher than that of a humans. and YOU!!! the squishy human with only one heart gets cold very easily, so mauls singular thin sheet does not suffice.

so naturally when you and maul get together, you're bringing in your various comforters, throw blankets, pillow, and stuffies if u have them.

maul doesnt need all that heat and his horns will just rip your pillows, so he keeps his sheet and singular sad pillow on his side of the bed. and its an objectively funny sight to see your random assortment of cute, colorful items in mauls very minimalist, black and red room.

maul fusses about it not because he has an issue with your taste (bc he really doesnt care as long as it makes you happy) but because he doesnt like clutter. but honestly, maul doesnt sleep much nor spend a lot of time in his bedroom. as long as there isnt stuff scattered all over the floor, he gets used to it.

that is until you're away for one reason or another, and put your things back in your old room so it doesnt bother maul. then maul notices that not only has he grown accustomed to your things, but they carried your scent, and now its gone. and whats worse? he misses it

maul is a man of restraint and control. he will exercise mind over matter. he is a grown man and doesn't need your things to fall asleep. until 48 hours have passed without a minute of sleep because you are not there, and your scent is not there, and maul is in such a terrible mood that rook tells him to not come out of his room until he's at least gotten 8 hours of sleep. so maul gives in to his foolish, animalistic zabrak instincts. he grabs your things and tosses them on the bed. he creates a nest of your blankets and pillows and lays right in the middle of it. and much to his horror, he starts purring!!! purring! and maul is out in minutes. it is some of the best, most restful sleep he's gotten in his life. he sleeps a whole 12 hours. imagine!

you arrive back to the safe house while he's sleeping. rook is relieved and tells you how insufferable maul has been while you were gone. when you quietly enter the room, maul is still sleeping. but not just sleeping, oh no, he's got one of your pillows tucked underneath his arm and pressed his face into it. and you can't resist taking a picture and sending it to rook. its not blackmail. of course its not.

"how much time until ya find someone new when i'll die ?"

you stopped in your tracks, turning around to look at simon. you studied his face for a few seconds, looking for any signs of humor, you found none.

"simon" you walked closer to the bed, he was laying under the covers. "you just broke your leg, you're not gonna die" you chuckled, trying to warm the atmosphere a little.

he simply looked at you, watching you slip under the covers with him, cheek flat against his chest.

"no" he exclaimed urgently. "get up, ya gonna make it worse" he put his hands on your waist, preparing himself to push you away.

"make me" you jokingly said, hugging him even tighter. you giggled at his silence, you didn’t even have to look up to know that he had given up. his arms now circling around your waist. it was funny to you how lieutnant simon riley was a huge baby when injured, he hated having to be helped for everything.

"'love ya" you heard him say with his hoarse voice, "love you too, simon".
