had the most bizarre experience on the bus today
it was kinda busy and this dude gets on to sit in the seat in front of me. He's really tall, like over 6'4, and very slim, he stood out quite a lot. Unconventional looking but not unpleasant or anything. Anyway, he sits in front of me and as we're moving, I'm kinda people watching and minding my business etc.
I see these two ladies walking down the street. They're both very pretty and it's hot over here atm so they're in short shorts and stuff, and they both have cowboy hats on because I think there was a festival or something going on.
The dude in front of me T U R N S to keep his eyes on them as we go past. And I mean turns. Like he moves right around in his seat to stare at them all the way until we drive by so far that you can't see them any more. He was literally facing me behind him. I thought it was gross and weird, but he also keeps checking his phone and doing voice notes, so I thought 'oh maybe he's looking for a friend who looks like them' or something.
But then it keeps happening. Any young lady in a sundress or summery clothing with long hair (specifically white girls, because he didn't look at anyone else and I was watching for his reaction), this dude is turning around in his seat to really, really stare at them. He does the same thing every time and makes a voice note or types a note on his phone. He isn't being subtle at ALL. He's straight up goggling at them and moving to keep his eyes on them.
I start to get this feeling that I've rarely had in my life, and I can only compare it to when you're out alone at night and you get The Fear. Like you're a grazing deer and you suddenly realise you're being watched by a tiger in the grass nearby. I start sweating and feeling like there's something really wrong here, like I'm noticing some kind of alien undercover as a human or something??
I paused my music to try and listen in on his voice notes but it was so busy on the bus that I couldn't hear him because he was murmuring into the phone the whole time.
So we get to rounding a corner and he spots this other lady. She's young, long hair, in a sundress, alone. I clocked her at the same time he did and I saw his gaze kinda lock tf in and I was like hm. Don't like that. He gets off at the next stop which is only two minutes from where she was walking and goes in the same direction as she was heading in.
I thought maybe I should get off as well and follow him to make sure she's going to be okay, but it was so busy that the doors shut before I could make up my mind and also, this is literally just a paranoid feeling?? I don't want to seem crazy and chase this guy right?? It was daylight and very busy too, so it wasn't like there was much of a chance of him doing anything shady there. This was central on a weekend, no way you'd go by unnoticed.
But I just cannot shake the feeling I got from him. I logged his outfit and features/the way he looked, as well as the time and where we were, just in case, but I really have never felt fearful, unhuman vibes like that before and I'm so creeped out by it. I can't stop thinking about it.
Don't get me wrong, I totally understand that this is probably just me being hypersensitive and vigilant of a man, and projecting my own concerns onto someone who was probably just being gross, but man.... It really feels like I encountered a fucking cryptid in a skin suit. I don't know what's wrong with me. He really unsettled me badly and I have no idea why.
