Is it worth the grind for Oraxia or should I just wait to get her bundle with the works?

i can't actually answer this because i haven't reached the part of the game where you can grind oraxia (⁠^⁠～⁠^⁠;⁠)⁠ゞ i brought her with platinum as a treat for myself and thus skipped ahead like 400 hours. i have no idea how you unlock her normally.

what im saying is. warframe vets if y'all wanna chime in that would be appreciated 👍 this just isn't my wheelhouse. yet.

i will say: oraxia is extremely fun and one of my all-time favorite frames (at least among the batch ive played so far). she's extremely versatile and extremely powerful. if wall crawling spider gameplay appeals to you in any shape or form i'd say she's absolutely worth it, whichever way you obtain her

as someone who did grind for oraxia, it depends quite a bit I'd say. specifically. if you hate duviri it will suck but if you are fine with duviri it will be fine and even easy 👍

#also even if you find duviri kinda annoying she's so fun. like oraxia is soooo fucking fun #also if you're new to duviri. it well be super annoying. Just always take the plant doubling decree and it'll be fine though

it’s funny bc I think I have a lot to learn, with blindspots that I’m still trying to fill in by reading more and talking to people etc, but when I’m hanging around certain family members I suddenly become The Wokest Person Alive just by merit of having made some attempt to not be shitty. and this isn’t level 3 discourse like “conflating submissiveness with a preference for bottoming is misogynistic”, it’s basic shit like “no, health is not a state of mind, and sick people are sick for reasons beyond bad attitude,” and “no, you should not loudly talk about how shocked you were that a Nigerian man was at grandma’s funeral,” and “please don’t say that about Jewish people,” and so on.

and usually they are willing to listen when I talk about this stuff, so there is a benefit to me being there, but holy crap is it a tonal shift going from online to real life.

Another thing about Dark Souls is the use and definition of "life." We're told that the ancient dragons predated life, that fire is life, and also that Crossbreed Priscilla, a half-dragon, is something antithetical to life. Yet, the question begs to be asked: if dragons and Priscilla seem to be just as much alive as anyone in Lordran - basically all of whom are actually undead and technically not even alive - what is life?

I don't think it makes sense to view life as biological, or as equivalent to how we might think of it in the real-world. Rather, it seems to be that life is a political-religious concept, one defined by Gwyn and the religious order built around him and the First Flame. There are physical elements to it, it seems that the dragons really declined significantly on a physical/biological level after the introduction of fire and of "life" - but is this not just explained by the presence of whole orders of dragon slayers, the wielding of lightning and fire, and the proliferation of Gwyn's life?

What Gwyn is doing is essentially, in one sense, colonial. I see him "creating life" as like the Europeans "creating civilisation" in the Americas and Australia and elsewhere all across the world. In Dark Souls, the dragons were driven out by "life" brought via swords and magic, and in the real-world, "uncivilised savages" were driven out by "civilisation" brought by guns and cannons. Ruling classes drape their actions with noble ambitions and goals and concepts, regardless of how well those ideas may actually apply to what they're doing, and regardless of what the people they are opposed to are actually doing.

We also see in the demons what happens when life "goes wild." It twists and coils in about itself and erupts into something new. They're represented, of course, by the chaos flame - by fire that Gwyn seemingly doesn't control, unlike his "pure" flame. His own ideals have been taken away from him, presented to him in a new light, and then appear to him as a monstrous distortion of what he has built when in reality they're perhaps an inevitable conclusion of the world he's made. It's notable that the chaos flame is the unintended result of the Witch of Izalith explicitly attempting to create her own version of the first flame.

The "undead curse" spreads as Gwyn's power wanes and his age nears its end. The universe trends again towards "lifelessness," but one which comes after Gwyn and the changes he wrought to the world. Is this not just the universe returning to its "natural state," the contradictions produced by Gwyn attempting to force his view of life collapsing in on themselves?
