lost elf nation rise the hell up
Oh anora doesn't get along with Alistair!
Oh they have screaming matches and she's mean to him!
WRONG
Shes super patient with him, actually. She handles the important paperwork and politics while encouraging Alistair to hype people up after the final battle. He's amazing at morale, he can make you feel like the crisis isn't that bad and you can handle it!
She sits with him while he learns about all his responsibilities, patiently explaining the documents they need to look at and review and why. Explains every position in court , why they're important , and what is expected of them.
He learns she's obsessed with coffee and goes out of his way to buy special roasts from the market district.
She laughs at his jokes , they're corny and hilarious and no one else really jokes around her. He treats her like a human being and she is stunned by it.
He's so jovial, so good-natured and goofy, but beneath it he's sharp, he's down to earth and he knows what must be done. He's a commoner too, more so than Anora even if you consider their upbringing, they become very popular with the people.
They go out drinking together. They push for elven rights together, the alienage gets repaired and rebuilt. They support Bann Shianni without hesitation.
She makes a point of deferring to him, so he can get used to making decisions too. She emphasises that his voice is also important and that they are ruling TOGETHER. She encourages his self confidence.
She doesn't force him to consummate on their wedding night. They'll do it when he's ready too - if he's ready too. It's politically stupid maybe, but so much has already been taken from both of them.
Slowly, she falls for him. He's beautiful, he's amazing, he's everything.
His feelings develop slower, she's tall, strong, and supports him. He notices early on she tends to forget to take care of herself - especially right after the blight. She doesn't eat, hardly sleeps, and exercises to the point of exhaustion. He steps in - he is always there with food, with company, with a drink or an ear whatever she needs. And maker help her if she doesn not retire to bed when he does and she's not there in the morning. She will get an earful.
They have to share a room. The bed is huge so they have space. He gets so sued to her presence. He'll just start to talk about whatever is on his mind, and she'll listen.
they could never get me to hate dai it's like that game was formulated in a lab to make me obsessed with it. the near-empty open world maps? i love. the wordy, timed war table quests that take real-life time to finish? i love. the absolutely horrendous platforming they tried to do? i love. being able to control and walk around as every member of your party? i love. the overwhelming inventory management? i love. collecting schematics i'll never end up using? i love. i love you forever dragon age inquisition
"degenerate" "gooner" "perv" shut up. shut the fuck up. listen to yourself. you sound ridiculous. human sexuality is HEALTHY and NORMAL. don't get caught up in this wave of puritanistic ideals that try to convince you your sexuality is immoral and unhealthy.

Hooked up with a British guy once and he said "awh that's propah" while I ate his ass
why did they make solas look so cut in datv? like you could write a thesis on the architectural structure of that jawline.
We know that Solas is afraid of “dying alone” but I also wonder if this is the fade’s oblique way of saying that he’s afraid to live forever. The fate of a true god.
I hope you can tell I love him.
the year is 2025
scientists are still scrambling to figure out what “zigazig ahh” is so that they can give the spice girls what they really really want
the spice girls are getting impatient

why are people buying the switch 2
political integrity aside you all have zero like. willpower. all of you were complaining about how expensive it is you're still gonna buy it?
i don't think it takes an overpowering will to not buy something you've already decided is an unjustifiable expense i think you're all just impatient
couldn’t have said it better myself.
Not me distinctly remembering that DLDR was originally meant for GAY ships because homophobia in the 2000s was so bad that gay fics would get mass flamed if you didn’t put that disclaimer.
thank god for solas that he didnt have to reunite with lavellan in wolf form. it was embarrassing enough to have eyes on him getting gmod ragdolled by the archdemon but if he had to reunite with them like that it wouldve been him on his belly like hes a socially awkward labrador with unmedicated social anxiety making friends at the dog park going hhheheheheem🥺hhhrhurhehmmmmheeheem hh hh 😭🥺🥺heeheem💔😭hhhurgh (gag hem heem 🥺(throws up)
Prison of Regret cut content
According to the devnotes in the text file, the prison was originally different from what we see in the game. Rook first wandered in the darkness, then along a bloody path among fallen comrades. In the end, the path was supposed to lead to the Demon of Regret who could change its appearance and voice to put pressure on Rook. There was a choice to confront it or give in.
Alone in the Dark Rook awakes in darkness, alone. Chains appear to have attached themselves to Rook. Attempting to gain a bearing, Rook starts to hear a voice. The voice sounds like Solas, but different. A path appears before them. Rook attempts to get answers from the voice while following the trail. Blood Leading the Blind The path resembles blood dripping over the edge of a cliff. The trail disappears after rook moves forward. The Voice returns to inform Rock they have swapped places with Solas. Rook Demands answers, but is taunted in return. A small light appears at the end of the path. Reaching the Light fills the screen with white. A still image of Solas appears when the white fades. He is striding out of a opening in the fade. This scene is identical to the one where Rock was moments ago. Approaching Solas triggers a banter about Solas with the voice. Approaching the Portal triggers a banter about the prison. Reminded of the Lost The set pieces fade away into the darkness, the path continues beyond. Escaped, but the battle has just begun. Figures come into view as Rook travels down the path. They are the fallen followers from the Ghilan'nain's battle, Frozen in their death throes. The scene is frozen in time capturing the moments Rooks followers died along with a scene of Ghilan'nain. Taunted by the Lost The followers that died taunt rook. Banter will play as players fumble around the space and while they progress down the path. Banter line about the First Fallen Follower Banter line about the Second Fallen Follower Another flash of white fills the screen. The mighty have Fallen Rook finds themselves on the walls of Weisshaupt. Similar to earlier, the scene is frozen in time. Rook walks the ramparts with the still battle around them. The voice speaks of moments from the battle. Banter line about Ghilan'nain. Manipulation Manifest The voice asks why Rook is here. Rook responds by mentioning Varric. The scene fades away. Rook finds themselves on another trail, however this time there is a doorway at the end outlined in the darkness. Passing through the doorway leaves Rook inside Varrics room. Suddenly the furniture and the walls will fall away, revealing a pile of rocks. Approaching the rocks triggers the Varric Reveal scene. First/second/third/fourth banter of characters. Get the Characters speaking about Varric. Challenge the Demon of Regret by walking towards it. Regret Changes its appearance and voice to imitate characters Rook has interacted with in an attempt to stop Rook in their tracks. Changes again to another character. Changes to one last character. Within the Conversation there are non-standard game overs depending on which response is chosen. Give-in to Regret Confront Regret Approaching the Demon, Rook overcomes their regret. Triggering the outro cine. Rook emerges from the Prison, where all their followers await them. After the hugs and jubilation, the group sets off to stop Solas and Elgar'nan will new found determination.
The text also contains some lines from the dialogue with the demon.

Like...everyone unquestioningly parrotting the 'god of lies' thing like that isn't strongly implied to be Evanuris propaganda?
Reason 1: he's not a god. None of them are. They just declared themselves that.
Reason 2: there's a codex entry in the Vir Dirthara section of Trespasser which talks about Solas going among the people in disguise and persuading them to his point of view and how this is lies and corruption...except he's currently running a slave rebellion.
Depending on the story indeed...such as the stories of slave owning megalomaniacal mages who wanted those who might potentially sympathise with Solas to distrust him?
And you all fell for it.
Like. The thing is... Dalish culture came about from the elves that had been enslaved by the Tevinter EMPIRE for so goddamn long that they no longer really remembered their own histories. Not well. They had a whole, "History became legend. Legend became myth," period. They were given the Dales and had to try and piece their entire culture back together from ruins and scraps.
And those ruins and scraps weren't all, y'know, Fen'Harel's. A lot of them are those of the Evanuris. Which are naturally gonna be praising the Evanuris and, potentially, speaking ill of the Dread Wolf. Hell, a lot of the elves in the Dales were probably descended from followers of the Evanuris who, y'know, weren't sympathetic to Fen'Harel anyway. So even verbal historical accounts would have resulted in some stories that were like, "FUCK THAT LYING LIAR WHO LIES!"
I just.
It's actually really fucking believable that some sects of Dalish are still operating under the thought that Fen'Harel is not to be trusted, even if some of the clans were sympathetic to him at the end of Trespasser.
If 90% of your Ancient Texts (TM) was like, "That little shit," and then said little shit was like, "Nuh-uh!" it's gonna be A Little Hard to believe that coming from the little shit.
There's a literal codex entry in Inquisition talking about the linguistic history of the term Fen'Harel and how the etymology changed over the centuries to fit a more negative narrative around him.
The clan Keepers evolved from priests of the Evanuris, and we heard how many elves in the Vir Dirthara were cursing him for shattering their world after the Veil went up.
Coupled with everything said above about how the Dalish had to piece their history back together from scraps, it's not altogether surprising that the survivors and their descendents would lean a certain way in their views of him.
Multiple unreliable narrators and all that, but the game itself indicates how the narrative was shifted, why, and by who.
