Mid Day Run --------------------------------------------- I worked a half day from home, so I was able to run mid day. It was pouring rain this morning, so it was nice to miss that. Lucy was ready to go, she slept on the couch all morning 😀 Low 40s and wet when we were out. I felt great today. I kept my pace in the 7:30-7:40 range. I felt like going faster, but I have speedwork for tomorrow. Back at it --------------------------------------------- My first run since my 5K on Sunday. Felt good to get back out there. I was sore on Monday and I could not go because of work on Tuesday. I am usually pretty sore the day after a race. I think it's just how my body recovers. That 5K seemed to give me some extra motivation to pick up my running a little more too. I really want to get my 5K time back down and just get into some regular training again. I have been really cautious, especially with speed work. The calf held up great under all of the stress from the race, so it was good to get over that mental block. Hot Chocolate 5K --------------------------------------------- 20:02 and I finished 2nd in my AG(out of 444) and overall 61 out of 19888. Not close to my PR, but I am ok with that. I left it all on the course and my calf felt good the whole way. That's the fastest I have run since the injury. Fun running through downtown Chicago. The challenging part is the tall buildings makes the GPS inaccurate, so it's hard to know your pace. Overall I had a fun time and the after race snacks were awesome!
