The Desire for Transformation
Part 3 - The Pipe Bear
The smoke cleared and Justin quickly realized he was back in his apartment. He quickly turned his head and saw the Smoke Transformer casually sitting on the couch next to him. Justin quickly grew frustrated.
âHey! What the hell? I liked it back there,â Justin yelled.
âI know,â the Smoke Transformer said calmly, âbut you have to experience the other paths. The other versions of you.â
âI donât care about those. I liked the man that I was,â Justin angrily said.
âThen you can choose that path at the end of our meeting. Now, which path do you choose next?â the Smoke Transformer asked.
âI donât careâŚI guess that one,â Justin answered as he randomly pointed to the pipe.
âVery well,â the Smoke Transformer obliged as he picked up the pipe. He placed the pipe in his mouth and clenched it with his teeth. With a snap, he lit the pipe.
The Smoke Transformer breathed in smoke and quickly exhaled. The smoke from his exhale filled up the entire room.
When the smoke cleared, Justin was no longer in his apartment. He looked around and it appeared that he was sitting at the table in the dining room of a dim cabin.
The cabin smelled rich with tobacco and pine. There appeared to be a slight haze in the air.
He stood up from his chair and walked around the cabin. âSmoke Transformer?â Justin called out, âAre you there?â
He heard a thud. Then another. It sounded like it was coming from outside. Justin headed out the front door and saw what was making the noise.
A large, beefy man stood in front of him. He was hairy and had a mutton chop style of beard. His hair was buzzed into a Mohawk. He wore a black tank top, black cargo shorts and black boots. He was smoking a pipe and had familiar faint red eyes.
As he swung his ax with his massive arms, his belly jiggled. The wood split in two as if it was butter.
The massive man looked at Justin.
âOh good, youâre here,â the man said in a deep, gruff voice.
âHoly shit, Smoke Transformer! Have you seen yourself? Youâre huge!â Justin exclaimed.
âI know what I look like,â the Smoke Transformer sternly said as he reached deep into his cargo shorts. He pulled out another pipe that looked already packed. He handed it to Justin.
Justin knew he had to smoke it for the transformation to work. He placed it in his mouth and between his teeth. Just like before, the Smoke Transformer snapped his fingers and lit up the pipe.
Justin started puffing on the pipe. Once the smoke hit his mouth, he knew what to do. The pipe came to life and Justin took a hard draw before breathing in the smoke.
He needed that even though he didnât know he did.
âGood cub,â the Smoke Transformer said, âNow finish up chopping this wood. I got to make dinner.â
âCub?â Justin asked as the Smoke Transfer walked back into the cabin, ignoring him. Justin turned around, smoking his pipe.
He was enjoying the richness of this smoke. It was earthy, but sweet at the same time. The smoke was smooth and not too harsh.
Justin picked up the ax that the Smoke Transformer left and started chopping wood.
After about an hour, Justin was starting to get sore. He didnât know how much wood the Smoke Transformer wanted chopped, but figured he better keep going until the Smoke Transformer told him to stop.
He wasnât complaining though, he enjoyed it out here. He felt at home. Plus, he was enjoying the pipe a lot. Everything was better with a pipe clenched in teeth and smoke in his lungs. The pipe barely left his mouth.
He was getting thirsty though. He noticed an ice chest a few yards away by a fire pit. He walked over and opened it up. There were only bottles of beer called âBear Brewâ. He had never heard of it before, but thought heâd try it. There was nothing else to drink to quench his thirst.
He twisted the cap off and took the pipe out of his mouth. He took a drink, which turned into a chug.
âDamn, this is good stuff,â Justin said out loud. He grabbed another one. Justin stood there with his pipe back in his teeth. He was so relaxed. He normally didnât drink beer due to how many calories and carbs there were, but it felt freeing to just let go and not care about that.
What he didnât realize that since he started smoked his pipe and swinging the ax, he had grown a beard. His muscle had also grown in size and, thanks to beer, his belly was bulging. Hair was also starting to sprout across his body, in places that never had hair.
âHey cub!â the Smoke Transformer called out from the cabin, âDinner is ready! I hope youâre hungry.â
âIâm starving!âJustin yelled back, âBe right there.â
Justin was in fact starving. It felt as if he was almost always hungry, or at least always willing to eat.
Justin hurried inside and walked into the dinning room. There was a massive feast on the table. There was a turkey, a huge bowl of mashed potatoes, gravy, a dozen rolls and creamed corn.
âI said I was starving, but I wasnât expecting a feast,â Justin said with his pipe firmly in his teeth.
âWeâre a couple of big guys. We need to eat,â the Smoke Transformer assured him.
Just sat down at the table and started dishing himself up. Once he was done and his plate was overly full, he set his nearly spent pipe down.
Justin started scarfing the food down. He had never ate so fast or greedily before, but the food tasted amazing. He was feeling his stomach expand, but he still wanted more.
The Smoke Transformer watched with a grin as Justin ate.
After the first plate, Justin made a second. He was growing in size. His stomach was getting larger and his muscles were getting bigger. His beard had even grown several more inches.
Justin had ate about 4 full plates of food before deciding to stop. He did think about making a 5th plate though.
âLooks like the cub grew into a bear. You must be tired. Go rest in the living room, enjoy a smoke and Iâll clean up,â the Smoke Transformer said.
âYou sure?â Justin asked.
âPositive,â the Smoke Transformer confirmed.
Justin grabbed his pipe and stuck it between his teeth. He noticed a box of matches on a side table. He took one out and struck it. He brought it up to the bowl of his pipe and lit it.
Justin walked into the living room, blissfully full of food and puffing away.
As he was walking though, his clothes had changed. He was now stomping across the wooden floors in boots. Being a bigger guy meant he got warm, so he was wearing some camo cargo shorts and a flannel with the sleeves cut off.
Justin stood there as he looked around and smoked. This was peaceful. He could enjoy this life. There was something freeing about giving in to the joys of food and beer. He liked how his body grew with the indulgence. And the pipe smoking was incredible. He was able to take thick, sweet smoke into his lungs and give them the ultimate pleasure.
The Smoke Transformer walked in with two bottle of beer. Justin looked at him and smiled. Justin knew he himself had grown in size, but didnât fully realize it until the Smoke Transformer walked in. Prior to cutting wood, the Smoke Transformer was a giant compared to him. Now, Justin was just as big, if not bigger.
âLetâs take a seat, big bear,â the Smoke Transformer suggested as he handed Justin a beer.
The two of them sat. As Justin sat on the couch, it creaked due to his weight.
âI liked being a Reds smokinâ cowboy, but I also love being a pipe smokinâ bear,â Justin said as he puffed away.
âAh, I thought you might say that,â the Smoke Transformer added.
âI donât want to go back to my old self. I want to stay like this,â Justin complained, knowing this version of himself was just temporary.
âEven over the cowboy you?â the Smoke Transformer asked with a smirk.
âYesâŚâ Justin answered but puzzled, âI meanâŚmaybeâŚI donât know.â
âThere is one more version to discover,â the Smoke Transformer added.
Justin sat there in his Pipe Bear body, puffing away and contemplating which version of himself he liked most.
The smoke engulfed him until the cabin disappeared.
