I was bored, and came across this old fan art I had, decided to do a redraw

Original is from 2012, and… I still recognize my techniques.  I wanted to try and keep the first color scheme, but I just hated some of them, so they had to be adjusted.  I think what I did was use their canon color schemes, adjust the fuck outta brightness/contrast, and then I think I added a blue/red filter

And then burn tooled the shading.  Back when I would attempt to do shading in one stroke because it was all on the same layer and the more you use the burn tool, the more it shows.  Burn it.  Burn it to the ground

I also obviously went with a different composition because I just felt there was no saving that silhouette 

These days I do my shading on a different layer and play with opacity/multiply, and kinda just adjust it here and there.  Line art I’ve improved on, but I definitely still have a lot to learn about both.  Line art and shading are my biggest weaknesses T_T

It’s always nice to kinda see how far I’ve come, but I do sorta miss like, the confidence I used to have about my drawings.  Idk, I used to just draw whatever and not even question the quality.  I also kinda miss not being so reference-reliant, which, is important but it’s a little more fun to just go at it and draw, at least imo
