When I was a teenager and still on Neopets I was part of a pretty big Star Trek guild and eventually became part of its council, with the solemn duty of creating weekly polls. Well one day I created the poll "Which would win in a fight? Borg Cube or Death Star?". Naturally, since this was a Star Trek guild, the answer was overwhelmingly "Borg Cube", but someone did have the rationality to point out we were biased.

Rewatching DS9 and I'm struck by what a perfect character Julian Bashir is. Man put all his points into medicine and pure self-confidence and absolutely none into insight or like, social cues. 100% will tell all his colleagues, friends, and random acquaintances about his innermost thoughts and feelings whether they want him to or not. Wakes up from a telepathically-induced coma in which he was forced to face his insecurities and immediately went "oh wow you guys won't believe what just happened". Like, most people might want to sit and think about what they've learned about themselves, but oh no, Julian Bashir would never sit and think quietly when he could sit and think loudly at whoever happens to be nearby!
