Long ago, before Mrs. Everdeen was officially named in the books, I wrote my own adaptation of her at the url healerstouch (owned by 🤷🏼‍♀️ by now). I used Carrie Mull1gan (specifically Never Let Me Go) & I decided to call her Melina Lark (in reference to birds loving Mr. Everdeen). Things have certainly changed since then!

With the drop of lore and use of bird names in 🎵 & 🐍 , Lark no longer worked. I don’t mind “March”, although it does make me think/feel off limits due to Little Woman 😆

I don’t hate much on the books, except at the exclusion of canonical –not just coded – LGBTQA+ characters, but I think “Asterid” is the such an awful name 😂 for anyone! It sounds like asteroid! A floating space rock? I know we name people after food & colors etc. but Asterid is just wild to me 😆. I’ve grown so used to “Melina”. It also reminds me of H0w To Train Your Dragon too much 😆
