The cult has existed for about a hundred years. Founded by someone obsessed with human morality, he believed that as time went on, more and more evil people would come to ruin the world. Aware of his own mortality, he established a community with a single purpose: to do good.

It sounds simple, but it wasn’t that easy; over time, people began to attend the meetings less and less, leading him to realize a fatal flaw within his group: faith. They remained blind to the evil that truly existed. So he continued to amplify every piece of news about evil he received—even beginning to fabricate stories—instilling fear in those who were starting to turn away from "blindness"

It worked. They felt safe around one another. Their minds were pure.

They believe that the only way to combat evil is to coexist with it, living side by side without being tainted. That is where their pact with the mystical things began, in order to “preserve their prosperity as they worked to produce more holy people.”

The system within this cult was simple: a leader and guards. Although the guards also acted as executioners whenever anyone in the cult showed signs of being tainted by sin beyond a certain limit, they were also tasked with maintaining the purity of the cult leader. The cult leader also has the right to execute a guardian who has become corrupted (no longer pure).

Candidates for leader and guardian are selected as soon as a new generation emerges. This time, the candidate for leader is Stephen, while the candidate for guardian is Steve. The problem is, Stephen is too curious to simply live in confinement, and Steve isn’t as obedient as he seems.
