13 March 2019 | When you have an excuse to watch BBC documentaries for class you know it’s going to be a pretty swell day.
30.06.2020 || my boyfriend always gifts me with books written by women and I think it’s the loveliest gesture ever. trying to keep my productivity on track whilst repeating to myself that is okay to give my mind a rest too.

Finished a few books recently, so here’s one of them. It was “Long Bright River” by Liz Moore. And honestly, I was really excited about this book, but it did not live up to my expectations. I gave it 2.5/5 ⭐️. The issue is that there was no closure at the end. I also feel like it was hard for me to follow along with the storyline because it flipped from “Now” to “Then”. Don’t get me wrong, they were marked out, but it would go back to a “Then” portion that wasn’t even related to what the “Now” portion I had just read on the previous few pages was about.
hello friends, it’s been yet another week since i last posted, but i haven’t been reading much as of late; so here are some annotations from a couple of favorites 🤍 i did pick up an old favorite this past week and have made a bunch of annotations already! i’ll hopefully be sharing them soon 🥰 what have you all been up to lately? ✨ https://www.instagram.com/p/ChhcangvN7r/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
Finished my 1st résumé draft!
Good morning! I’ve been MIA the past two weeks because it has been 18/21 days of straight med school, no breaks. Classes + reports on weekdays and exams on weekends, it has been hell. I’ve adjusted and I’m getting more sleep this week (from 3-5 hrs to 6 hrs). This weekend is our last set of compre exams and hopefully, we’ll be free from it.
We also did our campaign as the next medicine student council. Yesterday was the election and we are just waiting for the official announcement.
Tbh, it has been my most challenging and exhausting weeks so far. I have learned a lot of things though. I’ve learned
To let others take the wheel. In my second year I realized I was the Class President, the maker of weekly sched, and also the one who leads almost every meeting and do division of labor. That’s too much. This SY, so far, I learned to let others do the division of labor, etc. I’ve taken two jobs (org + student council) so in order to be able to balance everything and take care of my well-being, I have to let go of some things.
How to make an impactful speech. People liked my speech and I was happy about that. Tell your story, tell the things that speak most to you, and partner it with good writing.
How to manage my reactions and emotions well. I won’t go into details but when I was disappointed, what I did was stick to my healthy coping mechanisms. I went to the gym and planned with my partner a probable research that we are planning to write together. In the end, things were in our favor and turns out I don’t have to do the research but I will proceed with it anyway! Can’t wait.
Compartmentalize. Be present. Appreciate the little things, which is partly the reason why I’m back here in my blog. Through this blog I can share little bits of my life and appreciate the small things.
I’m grateful, but also humbled. Can’t wait to write more about my journey.
i’m a third of the way through my semester and my brain has only just now started to go into work mode 💀
