Just as the sun has always shone brighter than the moon, the gleam reflecting off of silver has always been second best to gold.

(And…. *drumroll please* he says “janky” now! Heck yeah!)

Okay, but also is it just me or did even the little head tilt movements in dr season 4 actually get super smooth 😂

Anyways, since I’m gonna randomly do a post on each ninja, can I just say that I did not expect to adore Zane and Pixal’s reunion as much as I did (but then again seasons 1 and 2 really showed Zane pining for Pixal lolll—agh, my poor dude was talking to her picture on the wall and then really went and taped the photo to a broomstick so he could carry it around). He just kept spinning her around and then they took a little vacation during which they danced with birds in spite of Zane’s prior advisements to Xanth cause obviously they both got the other half of their heart back XD

I also adored that mini lesson they incorporated using Zane’s character in a way that maabout using drawing as a meditative, problem-solving, and emotional regulation exercise. I like how they are slowly bringing back the mentorship aspect of the other ninja to Lloyd as well, it really flows with the theme of interconnection (and perhaps alluding to the mysterious purpose behind the merge of all the realms… oooh, I sense a theory coming along).

I adored that side arc in season 1 where Kai draws on his own past experiences to help Wyldefyre adjust to the world beyond the Wyldeness, then there is that scene in season 2 where Nya wishes she could have her big brother to talk through the turmoil that she’s going through from having her greatest fear realized and having to deal with thinking that she would never see him or Jay again (need a separate post to scream about that). Then, there is dragon rising season 3 where he tries to get through to Cole who is in an obvious state of guilt, panic, and fear for his family (agh, I also want to gush about that scene where Cole comforts Fitz and everything he else about his found family in the realm of the lost but for that I’ll ALSO need another post). I really want to joke that Kai may be rising up to become the “Elemental Master of Mental Health” but unfortunately, I watched Monstrosity 🥲

Given that they skipped over his greatest fear scene and let his character model subtly look like he was disturbed in the background of two other scenes following that incident until that trial… I fear the writers are slowly circling back to hurt him once more. 

I only started watching dragon rising a few weeks ago and it has given me all the feels and nostalgia I’ve been missing.

(Jumping on the Cassandra bandwagon? Moi? What an absolutely outrageous accusation! XD)

Unfortunately, just like what often happens when I write, my brain decided to go off script and kinda ditched the reference so uh now I have to do the background. I ended up making Cass’ hair more of a pale blue/sky-blue mix and her eye silver (though you’d probably have to zoom in to see that detail)… oh and then I added like a little headcanon based detail using that scene where Adira and Edmund tell the story of the Moonstone in Destiny’s Collide.

… especially cause it’s definitely been a while since I made character art!

And okay, so maybe I rushed it just a tad bit since I did not think I would finish it otherwise and um, I’m still practicing my anatomy so please forgive me if Cass and Captain are a bit disproportional- I also decided to jump in without a reference pose XD I probably will do a redraw eventually after more training (*cues training montage*)

Anyways, I decided to post two versions. One to make it more obvious that [SPOILER ALERT BUT NOT REALLY] Cassandra is not in fact dead after her very close brush with death and that the Captain of The Royal Guard is relieved (obviously, I decided to put the man through it as well since I decided that he was not going to end up injured like he did in the original season 1 finale), the second version is posted (under the keep reading break since the gore is more obvious) simply for the angst factor. I am sorry that I hit Cass with the whump truck, I really am— I just, felt like someone needed to be hit ya know? And technically it was plot relevant, therefore I was perfectly justified (I am, I am!).

POV: Rapunzel

Embracing that warm sensation as her arms slowly passed through her locks, focusing only on the direction that sourced the vibrations of the gentle, almost melodic, thrumming that had grown up with her but had been lulled to sleep for months until she first made contact with the black rocks, which had been resonating an echoic response to that very hum only for her to run from them in fear.

A connection had been made or rather reformed but had been severed from the source abruptly and far too soon.

The source that was inside her.

The source that belonged to her.

The source that was her heart.

A heart that was angry.

Mr. Paolini, why the heck did you do that to him 😫

But ah well, I suppose someone had to go out in a blaze of glory.
