at my wife's shop and trying once again to make a blouse... with the same fabric as before, but hopefully the dyeing process doesnt go badly again 𐔌՞. .՞𐦯

this is something i've been meaning to finish for a while... i wanted to give up on it several times over and was dreading what it'd look like by the time it was finished. i wasn't sure if the design looked okay anymore, worried that the stitches wouldnt stand out enough, that the washable marker would stain (well, it did a bit (,,¬﹏¬,,) ) and forcing the needle through the backing fabric made it difficult to work on for more than a hour at a time. it was just a pretty discouraging process overall...

oh, i also downsized my bag! i have a big messenger bag because i carry a lot of things with me everywhere, but it's been killing my back and shoulder lately..

i'm still going to take the messenger bag with me, but this way, i can just hold the essentials. a phone, wallet, journal, a couple of pens... and some trinkets ＾＾;

idk why, but i feel unsafe not having everything i think we need whenever we go out.. first aid stuff, spare pads, toiletries, headphones, whatever project or study materials were using that day, just a lot of stuff is what i'm saying . - . i can't help but think like: 'what of sawyer scratches willow and i don't have anything to clean and bandage her?', 'what if someone needs a pad and no one else has one?', 'what if someone has low blood sugar, what if we need to cut something, etc, etc?'... but really, there's no reason i need to carry all of that with me to pop into the grocery store > _ >

the dye looked nice after the third attempt but i messed it up with a stain when the iron leaked on it（；＿；）hopefully it either washes out or else i'll have to get more dye and see if that works, but i'm trying not to be too bummed about it because the shirt already has a few flaws and the point was mostly practice anyway. more learning experiences > _ >

okay ignore all of the drugs and paraphernalia in the background but i finally finished sewing the blouse! the main bits anyway. i drastically underestimated how long hand sewing would take, but i feel confident that the seams are mostly kind of neat and pretty strong.

now all that's left to do is a lot of pressing (it got really wrinkled and messed up because a lot of the sewing happened at the shop) and then i'm going to make it black with some leftover dye. after that, i'll sew on the buttons and buttonholes and eventually finish the seams maybe

preeeeetty certain the collar stand is messed up, and also the lace on the collar, so it might not sit properly when it's buttoned at the neck. still going to keep going though, it's a lesson learned for next time

still hemming the frill for another blouse.. which will be based on Otome No Sewing v. 2, pg. 13, pattern no. 22. the only changes are that i didn't have enough lace and well, joanns is gone, so... ( . _ . )
