lets get the definiton of paranoia straight real quick. Paranoia is an intense and irrational distrust and suspicion of others, often involving a feeling that people are “out to get you” which can not only range from mild anxiety but also be severe delusions that people are watching you or plotting to harm you, and is usually a symptom or characteristic of certain mental health conditions (e.g paranoid personality disorder, schizophrenia, schizotypal personality disorder, ect.)

what this theory entails is that paranoia is “anxiety but worse” which is watering down a severe and debilitating state of mind which is INCREDIBLY harmful and fueling a stereotype.
