The biggest indicator that life isn’t fair is remembering that all Japanese snow monkeys have to do is sit in hot springs and chill out. They don’t have essays. They don’t have politicians.

They have class hierarchy tho only the elite snow monkeys are allowed in the hot springs and the rest are forced to suffer the cold. They’re born into their class, and they die in the same class

it is so fuckn weird to see old people cope with not being able to send an email without help by assuming that the principle works in reverse

Okay, but for real—I’m a librarian and I get shit like this all the fucking time and I have to be so polite about it, like “Well, actually, that theory has been largely been debunked and is not supported by the scientific community, so perhaps it might be easier in terms of fulfilling the parameters of the assignment if you were to take the opposite stance for your paper?” when really I just want to scream for twenty minutes like Jake Peralta with a guitar.

the beef between STEM and arts + humanities is so tired. science and art are the same. sister subjects. they’ve fueled one another for years. one cannot exist without the other. they’re both made of the same kind of wonder, one tries to attain long sought after things in reality, and the other impliments the stuff of dreams. logic and emotionality. they’re both exercises of imagination. it’s all just beautiful, academic sludge.
