Genshin linguistics truly just are 100% vibes based because the continent has a "universal language" and yet there are scripts exclusive to certain regions and canon diagetic music in 2 different Mandarin diects (Yun Jin's opera + Sun Rao and Bosu's boat songs), French (Furina's opera), and High German (the a capella version of the Knights of Favonius anthem sung around the campfire).

And characters have personal names like Al Haitham and Kinich and Barbara and Mualani and Sangonomiya Kokomi and Lynette. And there's a lot of straight up Latin written all over the place.

So it's got to just be a 1:1 of our actual real world languages with slightly different written scripts, while a completely seperate "universal language" exists, possibly having started as a conlang in-universe, that's literally just English with a different written script. All of this is mostly insanely funny considering the geography of Teyvat.

I'm still a fully standard-tier, utterly mediocre Soldier player despite him being my main* and I do believe that the reason for this is that there exists a constant internal struggle between my want to actually play Team Fortress 2 and win versus me wanting to hear and watch the video game man get hurt
