He needs to work on building up the Clark Kent side before he can get back to being superman. Should positively impact every aspect of his life from fighting bad guys to things with Lois. If you’re nothing without the cape, you don’t deserve it. Assuming that was the future Lex we saw from the alternate timeline pulling them into the future? So this should be the impetus to develop him as well as the Kara x Jimmy stuff that’s been HAUNTING us for weeks.

It’s also how most of the other characters unknowingly added to his insecurities about it, like how Clark Kent isn’t much but Superman is. How Clark is a deadbeat to Lois, where is Superman after Clark got shot and hurt and when there’s multiple things that could put people in danger like the kids?!

It’s why Clark is upset, he felt like he didn’t do much because he didn’t have his powers to save people like usual.
