I tried to find this already posted but couldnât, so Iâm posting it myself. Remember, they also refuse to aid LGBT individuals to the point of literally leaving them to die in the cold, and turn a blind eye to sexual assault perpetrated by their staff against those they âserve.â Â
Can we as a society all collectively acknowledge that the stigma around lawyers being greedy liars who are always just trying to get murderers out of jail in exchange for money and needlessly flinging around lawsuits is pretty much 100% because the police force and upper class hate that lawyersâ jobs are to keep them in check?
Defense attorneys being portrayed as knowingly lying and trying to get their client to lie to the police? Constantly shown as willfully preventing murderers from being convicted and just all around making everything needlessly difficult for those brave police officers? How someone calling for a lawyer in a show or movie is a clear sign theyâre guilty? How a lawyer telling their client not to be forced into saying anything or not to say anything without them there is portrayed as the lawyer trying to stop the repentant person from telling the truth? Itâs all just bull painting anyone who âgets in the wayâ of what the police want to do or try to defend the rights of people the police donât like as being criminals themselves.
And the idea of these âblood-sucking lawyersâ descending on these poor innocent multi-billion dollar companies when they make an âhonest mistakeâ like knowingly creating dangerous conditions for their workers or customers and engaging in shady business practices? Itâs all tied up in the smear campaigns against people who try to keep these corporations in check by creating the fiction of there being all these pointless and frivolous lawsuits made up by greedy lawyers and entitled, lazy people looking to scam these poor innocent companies.Â
Like, feel what you want about individual lawyers and how they operate, but donât pretend the majority of the stigma and stereotypes come from the fact that theyâre the ones that actually are tasked with holding people to the law who are used to not being held to anything.
i am adding that the âblood-sucking lawyersâ phrase used here is not criticized for what it is: antisemitism. there is also a stereotype of lawyers mostly being jewish and the racialized undertones of american perception of lawyers is very real.
Hi guys, I need to write a PSA about this specific doll. She might look like your standard creepy child sized doll but hear me out.
A year ago I was at a flea market and saw someone selling this doll. No big, right? Standard creepy doll. I thought nothing of it and kept walking.
Cut to January of this year. I go to my local Salvation Army- and there she is. Pink dress and everything. I do not buy her, but quickly exit the store.
Cut to LAST MONTH and I go to my local Savers. Suprise! There she is! And sheâs still there, as of last Monday. (This drama is all taking place in Southern New Hampshire, in case anyone is wondering.)
There are two possible explinations for these sightings. One: people are buying the doll, something is happening with her, and she is being âdonatedâ to end her reign of terror. or Two: This doll is sentient and is traveling from thrift store to thrift store, waiting for some unsuspecting person to bring her home, where she will thenâŚ.do what? Iâm not sure.
Whatever the case I canât expect her to remain at my Savers for too long. I donât know where sheâs going, what her motives are, whether sheâs killed anyone, or why the guy who was selling her the first time was dressed like Elvis (did he start this?) I dont know if this is her third stop or her three hundreth. But if you see her at your local thrift store, DO NOT BUY HER! There is a very good chance she is legitimately haunted!
Instead, if you see her, let people know. Take a picture of her and let people know where you found her. We must warn the thrifting community of her existence. And if she is truly sentient, then we need to give her a name.
Yes, yes, I get it. Generational discourse and "ok boomer" are reductive and everything. There are marginalized and poor Baby Boomers, and rich and powerful Millennials. I don't need it explained to me a thousand different times. Generally "ok Boomer" is addressed at the middle-to-upper-middle class white suberbanites that similar memes like "Karen" and "Can I Speak To The Manager Hair" also are.
We get it. Really, we do.
But have y'all considered why this struck a chord, especially as quickly as it did? Because this is one of the fastest inception-to-mainstream velocities I've ever seen from a meme.
Think for even a second about the literal decade of the older generation blaming Millennials for literally every single problem. We couldn't go a week with us being accused of killing an industry or being whiny snowflakes. Of being told we can't afford healthcare because we're too lazy to earn it and houses because we eat too much avocado toast. That we're entitled because we want try to prevent the world from metaphorically catching on fire. That we're too sensitive and can't take a joke because we don't like when comedians shout racial slurs.
It got so bad websites were making listicles of all the industries and societal norms we supposedly killed. From Applebee's to diamonds, dinner dates to marriage. They would've blamed us for tornadoes if they could.
Do you think boomers were having these long discussions and Twitter threads about "well the entitled millennials are just the rich, spoiled ones and most of them aren't in that group something something class warfare"? I'm sure a few did, but very, very few.
We've withstood this shit for years, YEARS, and the one time we punch back in a large scale way, we get this? Like, let people even the slightest amount of cathartic fun.
We've been the go to punching bag since I wasn't even out of highschool, and I'm in my late 20's.
Yes, it's reductive. Yes, it's not a replacement for class analysis. Yes, ageism is a real thing and a large number of 55+ year olds (typically poc and/or working class) are treated poorly and are subject to the same shitty class system we are, too.
But also, yes, sometimes it's nice to it's have a fun joke that finally turns the tables and see how terribly they react to the ridicule we've put up with since we were preteens.
So maybe just save the thinkpieces for just a little bit. Or, in summary:
Like the fact that I am seeing people actually try to argue that âokay Boomerâ is ageist or evil or makes us âjust as badâ like...
I started getting shit for being entitled when I was in MIDDLE SCHOOL. The Millennial bit came along in high school, but as early as 7th grade I remember hearing people complain about my generation for things like phones and games and computers, how we were ruined and spoiled by the participation trophies that we got for sports. I remember my uncle ranting about how âall those kids think that theyâre so specialâ when I mentioned that a teacher had gotten in trouble for using a slur and had been fired.Â
I have been told that I am the bane of society for as long as I can remember- being that I am one of the youngest possible Millennials (the generation ended with those of us born in 1995, if the internet is to be believed, although I have heard 1996 as a cutoff as well), I have been hearing this shit basically all my life. I was ALSO promised all kinds of things when I was a kid. And then everything went to shit, the planet is LITERALLY on fire because of things that began before I was born and got worse when I was a child...
And somehow it is MY fault? The world is shit because I, personally, killed Applebees and marriage and diamonds... But not because the economy, social systems, and fucking environment were trashed by the generations before us? The reason why Millennials suck is because we have âno sense of humorâ, because we think racism, sexism, and homophobia arenât fucking funny and never were? Weâre entitled because we demand basic fucking respect and want to not be treated like shit at our jobs and by our families?Â
Everything sucks and it is the fault of my generation, who are somehow both lazy adults and entitled children all in one, who are still patronized to, talked down to, treated like spoiled brats despite the fact that the youngest Millennials right now are like, 23? Most of us are working and weâve worked MORE than the previous generation? Literally all of the serious issues we bring up because they impact us get ignored and we get treated like screaming babies... But no, itâs our fault that everything sucks now...
Okay, Boomer.Â
The oldest millennials are almost forty now (37-39ish) and are still being treated like weâre whiny teenagers. And have been treated that way ever since we became adults in the late 90s. Itâs by design.
So yeah. Okay, Boomer, indeed.

So can we talk about the absolutely stunning duplicity going on here?
âŚthatâs cheating!
HOLY SHIT
That is some DELIBERATELY EVIL data representation. Where is the super villain that designed this fucking graph?
âOkay murders spiked by like well over 1000% but if we turn the graph THIS way, itâs like they went DOWN! HOORAYYYY!!!â
For anyone confused: the red represents the murder rate. Look at the numbers at the y axis. The graph is upside down because, normally, a graph starts at 0 and then goes up, but this one ends at 0.
As we put it in German: never trust statistics you havenât manipulated yourself
this is fucking disgusting
There, I fixed it.
Holy fuck this is utterly vile.
This is why I believe everyone should have a stats class in highschool. People can moan about math all the way want but things like this affect not only your life but society itself. Being able to read graphs properly, understand statistics⌠It frees you from so much.
this headline gave me heart problems
Y'all know Jim parsons left the big bang theory cuz its toxic right??
Y'all know he os a gay man with moneywho is actually a really cool dude in rl??
Why all this âsorry gay/bi ppl gotta deal with thisâ from the straights??
Fuck you straight people, I am excited to see where this goes
Yea outside of TBBT heâs been a huge queer advocate, and shuts down homophobic bullshit. Like for example when Love, Simon came out and everyone was like âdonât we have enough of this/isnât it too late for this?â He was like âdo you people say that about every straight rom com that comes out??â
Plus his work outside of TBBT has mostly BEEN queer shit, including being in a movie about how shit the government was in regards to the AIDS crisis.
TBBT was his big break, he was a nobody before it. And unfortunately he got stuck with it for a while. Although he wasnât afraid to use his newfound fame for a good purpose. And now that heâs free of it? Weâre only gonna see more of his queer activism side.
Donât forget that heâs an actor, not the character jfc. A gay guy trying to get a break signs a contract and gets stuck with a show, playing a shitty characterâŚ.. Like. Thatâs notâŚ. Donât hate him for his first big role, yea?
but what if there were TWOâŚ
!!! WARNING, EVERYONE !!!
IF YOU SEE THIS IN A YOUTUBE AD MUTE YOUR DEVICE AND SCROLL UNTIL YOU CANâT SEE THE VIDEO SCREEN ANYMORE.
This is an ad about animal cruelty that has very loud screaming of dying animals. Also flashing, graphic pictures of said animals, like a dead chicken or a pig biting a wired fence.
Itâs about thirty seconds, the screaming starts 10 seconds in and the ad isnât skippable.
It can trigger panic attacks and cause your anxiety to skyrocket, and itâs just generally a very disturbing thing no one should see.
Iâve only seen a warning yet, havenât stumbled across this before despite using YT a lot but for the love of God please be careful. Here is a link to that video but ONLY WATCH IT IF YOU KNOW YOUâRE NOT SENSITIVE TO THIS TYPE OF CONTENT. Iâm merely giving out the link so you can report it and I wouldnât advise any of you actually watch it.

Not to mention the video TELLS you to put on headphones and turn up your volume?!
YouTube, what the fuck
Oh so if our videos contain a few bad words or the algorithm randomly decides it isnât advertiser friendly, we get demonetized, but the advertisers can do this?
Hmm, interesting, from ANOTHER posting of the same videoâŚÂ âWe created an immersive sound experience for their social media portals. Listeners experience 10 seconds of a harrowing soundscape that conjures up the atmosphere of a factory farm. With screaming animals and deafening turbine engines. The end message reads âThat was just 10 seconds. Animals live with the unbearable sounds of factory farming their entire livesââ
In other words, they layered turbine noises on TOP of the sound of pigs, so that you wouldnât notice that itâs just the sounds of a lot of pigs together.
Because pigs, especially curious pigs, are VERY noisy animals. And only by giving you loud noises without context, overlaid by louder noises, will you buy that this horrorshow of an ad is legit.

wish my hair grew little flowers on its own how neat would that be
Good news! Plants can grow under your skin!
THATS KIND OF TERRIFYING THANK YOU FOR THIS INFORMATION
You're welcome ;)
Ok actually, my cousin was playing with some other kids and he fell in a blackberry bush. Had some scrapes, but nothing too bad.
Few months later and he got this dark bump on his arm that was starting to hurt, and he didn't know why. His mom, thinking it was a zit, tried to pop it, but nothing happened no matter how much she messed with it.
Finally they went to the doctor and he numbed the area and cut in to figure out what it was. Totally normal procedure, right?
Well, the dark bump was something that kinda looked like a black cyst at first, but it was weirdly long. And it got longer.
And longer.
And what the doctor pulled out was THREE INCHES OF BLACKBERRY VINE
From everything I know about Himalayan blackberries I am not remotely fricking surprised
Where did the hype go? We canât stop now guys.

Weâre so close!!
How are disabled and interracial illegal???
Interracial marriage was outlawed for the longest time, and disabled people lose government benefits when they get married so they cannot have reassurance that they will continue to LIVE if they get married.
Story time: my mom is white, dad is black. Theyâve been together twenty four years, married for twenty three. When my parents were dating they did it on the low TO KEEP MY DAD SAFE.
My momâs parents said âWe donât care who you love.â At that point sheâd only ever brought home white guys. She brought my dad home-her mother called her a nigger lover and damned the relationship as much as possible. Her father grew around his prejudices after I was born but never apologized, just wasnât a blatant fuck.
The day she introduced my father to her family was the last time she spoke to her mother for over twenty years. When I was getting sick and she called and asked her mother and grandmother if anyone in the family had anything strange happen similar what I was going through they told her âitâs because you married a black man. You made your bed, you lie in it.â
Cops pulled them over all the time and asked my mom IF SHE WAS OKAY AND IF SHE NEEDED HELP BECAUSE MY FATHER-A BLACK MAN-WAS DRIVING A 100 POUND WHITE WOMAN AROUND. HE WAS HARRASSED AND THREATED WITH ARREST.
My father ended up getting into a fight in self defence because some entitled hick decided he didnât like seeing a black man and white woman in the bar together. Thankfully other patrons helped my father but he still couldnât go to the er for his injuries. My mom patched him up and they were terrified the cops would take him away.
THEIR BEST FRIEND GOT LICENSED TO MARRY THEM SO THEY COULD ACTUALLY TIE THE KNOT BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WOULD AND CITED JIM CROW ERA LAW AS TO WHY.
When shopping with just me my father wouldnât hold my hand if there was a group around. Why? Iâm far lighter than him and people had stopped and asked him âwhose child is that?â Or âlittle girl whereâs your parents?â and were stunned when I grinned and pointed at my dad and proudly proclaimed âmy daddyâs right here.â You know where else mixed kids couldnât hold their parents hands? Apartheid South Africa. We live in fucking FLORIDA.
So yeah. Some history for you.
This post was made in October 2018. The above posterâs parents met in 1994. We were a generation removed from the Civil Rights movement and this was happening.
when my parents got married in 1979, they had to check to make sure they could legally do it at their intended venue
why?
my mom has epilepsy, and in the late 19th-early 20th centuries, several states passed laws banning people with epilepsy- among other disabilities -from marrying
(luckily the state in question had removed the law from the books, but just the fact that it was a concern is appalling)
And itâs SO important to remember these things. People on tumblr often somewhat remember life before Hodges v. Obergefell, but many were kids. And that was just 4 years ago. Loving v. Virginia, the case that allowed interracial marriage, was argued in 1967. My mom was 9. Sheâs a Boomer and Iâm a Millennial. This was NOT that long ago. But by not framing it like that, itâs easy for people for whom itâs always been law to not realize how recent it was.
new four temperaments are clown, 80s, cowboy, and goth.
I appreciate this principally because it acknowledges that thereâs a difference between a goth clown and a clown goth.
say what you want about buzzfeed unsolved but lets be honest with ourselves, the theory that shane is a demon and thatâs why they never see any real supernatural bullshit is so much funnier then ghosts just not being real

A lady dies and goes to heaven and is standing in front of GodâŚ
âThere is one thing Iâve always wanted to knowâ
âOk, ask away,â God said.
âDo vaccines cause autism?â she asked
âThe truth is no, vaccines have nothing to do with autismâ, admitted god.
The women shakes her head and says â They got to you too, this thing really goes high upâ.
