over time, we find out that sm from the village- the argents have always been there, vocal about the dangers of werewolves but no one had thought kate was hunting them down the way she did the hales- had massacred the pack and it’s like a thing. slowly public opinion changes and just follow whatever else happens in httyd but have stiles and derek get together instead.

peter could just pop in and out and ig scott could get bitten to kickstart it.

this is absolutely gonna be a thing now!!!

AMAZING!!! i read the first fic- which actually made me fall in LOVE- and read the second one today bc i didn’t realise it existed and arghhh so good!

preface- me? not a fan of the monarchy or, esp rn, the state of the UK in general HOWEVER this fic managed somehow to humanise them to me more than any possible PR move they could’ve done.

well, it was a mix of liking them bc aww and also bc they’re my fav characters🫶🫶 and low-key high key hating them bc ew.

now back to normal- OlivieBlake is an amazing author. her writing style in general is just one of my absolute favs, there’s always so many quotes- hell, whole paragraphs- from her her fics that i save and this was no different.

the way she writes relationships and thoughts are esp my absolute favourite and if i could write half as well, i’d die happy.

the fic itself is a Muggle!AU based around the royal family and the little tidbits were so much fun to spot- even as someone who doesn’t know a great deal about them.

the CHARACTERS omg!!! habits and quirks are what make characters but the sheer RANGE and QUALITY of her characters- esp her OCs- are just amazing. it’s so so easy to fall in love with them and the whole story is written through such a sensitive lens.

Blake is much nicer to the royal family than, i confess, i am or would be, but it is so so effective- there’s no attempt really to try and hide behind any moral shield. it’s, imo, quite realistic seeming and i think, a fair depiction.

it is ofc a dramione romance so they’re at the heart of it, along with all the dramione side pairing favs:

the women are amazing in this, the attitudes of the Firm, the tabloids and the british public towards them boiled my blood- both due to principle ofc and the frustrating accuracy in real life.

there’s a lot of frustrating accuracy to real life. be warned. it was written in the 2019/2020 era. i think. don’t quote me- second was i think idk abt the first x

the malfoys are ofc malfoy-ing their way throughout the fics and it’s the regular amount of trying to sort through feelings towards them tbh

so so so good! i spent basically the majority of the day reading this and finished it in that time and omfg the ROLLERCOASTER i have been on.

i went from laughing ACTUAL laughs to genuinely just sobbing- within the space of a single chapter.

reluctant guardian fics are my weakness anyway but the way this fic was written and just UGHHH everything made it perfect.

the characterisation, the morality, the FEELINGS!!! just made it seem so real and amazing and just so good!!!

pls pls pls go and read it bc like it’s needed.

and ik there’s gonna be a load of ppl annoyed bc drarry or guardian!voldie etc but cmon i couldn’t be annoyed if i tried to find problems with it bc of the way harry struggled with it too like get over it or just don’t read it xx

i finished this in abt 2 and a half hours and OMFG it was amazing!!! i LIVE for time travel au fic, and i’ve recently restarted a maruders phase. always loved theo so i thought why not have some theomione to distract from the jegulus angst and i found this and it was just perfection🤩🤩

the characterisation was just done so well and the plot MAKES SENSE!! i didn’t expect to like *certain ways it differs from the majority of time travel fics* but it just FIT SO WELL

the sev and reggie bromance is smth i cannot ever get enough of and THIS. FIC. SERVED.

This acc has be in shock. it was just amazing. literally no words. i am in shock and in love. i thought it was a poetry based on the blurb, but i was SO not disappointed.

- it's just done so beautifully. we get little bits and pieces and as the story goes on and we learn about each character, the picture becomes clearer and clearer. i love that we got to see the stories and thoughts and lives of everyone,

- the onslaught of characters coming so early had me lost for a while but it almost made the individual stories more impactful, because i didn't know who was who until i read their account and then i did know who they were and i love that.

- The pieces came together gradually, the relationships and connections being discovered was amazing and the ending was oddly fitting. it wouldn't have worked for any other book but somehow it felt quite right with this one.

- talks about class and having upper class friends really well, literally everyone is queer and it's just amazing. there are no female characters and while that would normally be a red flag, i see why in this story and i can accept it. there's ace and trans rep, sex workers, mental health, trauma etc

- this is one of those rare books that really hits you. it's gonna stay with me for a long time and it just leaves something with you. just something about it is so special.

- i need this book to have more hype because it is just unfair that i haven't heard of this before. here's some of my fav quotes-

I saw a negative review just before I read it, but it was acc rlly good?! A quick, easy book to get through and just really good.

- not a fan of the whole ‘giant man, teeny tiny woman’ but it’s easy enough to ignore so can’t really say much about it.

- workplace rivalry, jealousy, vying for a job position and all done so well too

- discovered a new fav trope in this book: ‘mc explodes in front of everyone at the sorry piece of shit excuse for a parent of their so. even better if it’s enemies to lovers’ the pure serotonin as I read that scene was just… amazing.

This has been on my TBR for so long and I finally read it and omfg it was amazing!! (Sorry for the gap btw I’ve been in the shittiest slump ever istg literal hell)

- the range: wealthy family, hidden trauma, business tension, and dead rich grandpas

- GRUMPY/SUNSHINE DYNAMIC!!!!!

I love this book. I was kinda in a slump and saw it on my tbr so was like why not? And I’m so glad I did.

- it’s not rlly heavy or complex and it’s just so easy to get into the book. A fun standalone to read quickly.

- I love the whole vibe- and ofc it has SO MANY TROPES! Workplace rivals to lovers, fake dating, one bed, forced proximity... ugh I’m in love.

- The smut wasn’t crazy kinky but it was just so good?? Like it was adorable i loved it. The tension between the characters and the difference in their feeling for each other was written so well.

Madam Umbridge’s Home for Wayward Girls by LovelyVillian on Ao3.

It’s complete at 756k words and is a literal masterpiece. Only 35 chapters but they’re quite long so it feels like a proper story.

The ff is a dramione/tomione and set in Victorian muggle London. I am acc obsessed with it like ughhhh so good.

The author could just replace the names of the characters and publish the book bc the plot, the characters, the twists-omfg the twists- are amazing.

I watched Me Before You today and I’m acc in love! I am a sucker for romance and went into it thinking it would be a light hearted, wholesome story... nope. I mean, it kinda ig was but gods the p a i n

- I thought I wouldn’t like the main female lead much but tbh I acc fell in love with her quite quickly. I realised that I very much envy her outlook on life. We have: a slow-ish relationship; a sarcastic, sick-of-the-world dude; a lovable Australian doctor and a big-ass castle- that our main male owns!!

- the wedding scene has my whole heart. The escape for him, the sheer joy for her, watching that star of a godmother bash the groom, the bride’s choice in husband and praise our guy at the same time... perfection. Yh I low-key felt bad for Neville but like... ur the first boyfriend dude. They’re never around for long.

I am slowly making my way through my TBR so you can expect more reviews of popular BookTok books!

I just finished this like 5 minutes ago and I am already in desperate need of the second book. I don’t often read stories like this but gods this was an absolute masterpiece. The writing is amazing and ajkasjskajsj I’m still not okay.

The characters! I fell in love with them from the very start and- let’s be honest- who doesn’t love a rich, self destructive family with skeletons in closets and hidden politics? They were just so well formed and i absolutely adore them. Our main character’s voice is amazing and although she is smarter than I have any hope of being, it felt realistic.

The plot itself had me hooked. My attention span is not great- I only started reading this to put off reading something else but I couldn’t stop. It was twist after twist after twist and they kept on coming- even in the last chapter! So many mystery suspense books are just predictable but The Inheritance Games was beautifully done.
