Maybe the most damming thing about Nolans odyssey is i haven’t seen a single gifset from it
teenage girls in fiction: hes so cute i wanna slow dance with him at prom :3 hehe
real teenage girls: imagine if he got injured and i had to tend to his wounds and i could watch him seize up a bit as i disinfect them and in the haze of fever he sees me as an angel
shoutout to the person who tagged this "#geronimo stilton" for living their truth in a way most of us could never find the courage to
my partner said something that kinda rocked my world
Whenever people bleat and whine about the “invisibility” of trans men, I think about Heated Rivalry. The biggest show of the year had a trans man, Harrison Browne, cast in a prominent role where he appeared in multiple episodes and had a good handful of lines. Following the show he had a bunch of articles written about his role and the importance of trans inclusion, including one on CNN.
Heated Rivalry also features a trans actress. In one scene, in one episode, the one where Rose is getting her makeup done on set. The actress’s name is Miss Niki Nikita, her character is not given a name. She is given one line, with only one word: “Same.” Trying to track down the name of this actress requires you to dig through the guts of Google search results, and still the main thing that comes up is a reddit post where someone credits her. (Googling “heated rivalry trans woman” still just returns results on Harrison Browne.)
When you say “trans men are invisible” do you just mean that online spaces are constantly trying to raise awareness for the violence trans women face? Because from where I’m standing, trans men get to experience the joy and the limelight while trans women get the violence and the vitriol. But sure, I guess they’re “too visible.”

*getting too in the weeds of the worldbuilding of a horny tumblr post* Okay I get that you're saying princess, but honestly the dynamic you're describing here seems more like you want to be a duchess or even a lower noble
You wanna be the villainess in an otome anime
This has nothing to do with historical accuracy by the way. It's about the genre conventions and the internal logic of the scenario. If you wanna be a princess getting kidnapped by a dragon or running of to faerie, go for it. If you wanna be a prize locked away in a tower, or an aspiring despot, be a princess.
If you want to have an intense homoerotic rivalry with another girl you met at magical boarding school, you're the daughter of a marquis at best.
I will say, thinking about it, that you can have an intense homoerotic rivalry with another dragon’s princess if you’d like.

The H stands for HAFTA

atheist beach boys: science can determine what i'd be without you
settlers are always baffled and deeply hurt when they have to confront that there are people who dont care or even just care less about their individual circumstances, their suffering, their loved ones, etc. and instead view them as a microcosm of their nation despite the fact that this is literally their default mode of operation towards the rest of the world. this is as true about the US as it is Israel or wherever else.
power chords were invented by indigenous (shawnee) musician link wray, who also made history when his song "rumble" became the first and only instrumental single banned from the radio in the us (way back in 1958!!!!!) "rumble" would go on to appear on shows like the sopranos and spongebob squarepants and films like pulp fiction
100%
link wray popularized the modern "power chord" with distortion like the larsen effect in the late 1950s. this 1959 song "comanche" highlights his guitar techniques that played a role in the development of punk and metal.
playing that banned song in the 70s in san francisco:
after death, wray was featured in the 2017 documentary, RUMBLE: the indians who rocked the world. here is an article by one of his biographers if you would like to learn more:
The "Rumble" hitmaker, who grew up in Dunn, didn't embrace his Shawnee heritage until his forties.
remember how homophobic game of thrones was.. meanwhile gwayne hightower gets to have a literal superhero moment for remembering the faces of every single guy he’s ever sucked off at a tourney. Beautiful world

Guys can I be honest. I like you guys . You are my Frends. Yay Ok
i've got some serious issues w the larger transfeminist community & space on here i'll be honest. and it is hard for me to talk about because not only do i feel the need to be very precise and clear with my words, but also there is enough opposition to transfeminism already that im afraid my words will be twisted for use against the movement as a whole. it feels difficult & dangerous to talk about issues w this community on here.
i think the 'transfeminist' space on here is.. unprincipled, for lack of a better word. you will advocate against harassment, against alienation, for the assuming of good faith, etc., but really only for girls who you see as likeable, for girls who are agreeable. you will discuss an element of transmisogyny while being blind to or perpetuating the same pattern in your own spaces.
transfeminism should not be empty words. you are a fucking hypocrite if you consider yourself a part of this movement yet utilize transmisogyny against other transfems.
there is no transfeminism without intersectionality, without principle, without solidarity. humble yourselves. understand your positionality in all of this and where you hold power. stop being a hypocrite and educate yourselves. the amount of racism & ableism left unchecked in these spaces is sickening. put in the fucking work.
transfeminism is, i mean this entirely seriously, dead in the water as a movement without intersectionality. this shit can't continue.
Im gonna be very blunt here because this is a very white and US-centric site: even as transfeminists yall gotta actively seek and destroy your internalized white supremacy, fascist propaganda, and homonationalism because those are the things you’ll routinely betray transfeminism and your fellow trans women over.
The woman who introduced me to transfeminism and who I still hold up many of the transfeminist ideals she taught me, threw me under the bus because when I confronted racism and ableism in our group of transfeminists, she chose white solidarity over commitment to transfeminism.
And shit like this isn’t just happening, it’s COMMON because so many are so desperate for power in a world that takes it from us that they refuse to willingly hold back from using the tools of white supremacy, fascism, empire, against other transfeminists the moment it becomes convenient enough or they hate someone enough.
You have to fucking sit there and actually interrogate your actions and choices as you make them. Yes. This is uncomfortable. Yes, we’re all mentally ill and traumatized. Sometimes we’ll fuck up and lash out or intentionally make choices to harm others, but instead of running from what we have actually done, we MUST be able to take the L and address it when it is brought to us in good faith.
You cannot keep separating your actions and your self in your mind. You cannot keep making excuses or exceptions to your ideals. You have to start looking at what you do and go “is this actually fully in line with what I believe and how I want the world to treat us?” And if it’s not, FUCKING CHANGE.
