My petty ass when someone skinny buys something XXXL from a thrift store to ~transform~ it into a cute tailored cocktail dress: how about you leave the XXXL section alone so poor fat women out there can retain some sense of variety out of the 7 things that actually fit them in the god damn goodwill

@maryburgers would you have gone to that specific theft store to buy that specific vintage dress? If you would have never gotten it then why would you degrade her for doing cute and interesting to a dress that probably would have just sat at the thrift store forever.

Hey you know what’s actually degrading? Making a habit, and by that I mean an entire blog, where you buy all the plus size clothes in a thrift store and then take pictures of yourself contrasting your tiny body against the IMPLLLAAAUSIBLY OUTRAGEOUSLY HUUUUGE clothing. That is degrading.

What is really such a bummer about these images is that some of the dresses look like something that would sell on modcloth for 50+ dollars. Someone fat could have worn these and looked hella interesting and cute without having to spend a lot of money to get there.  I don’t even mess around with thrift stores to find clothes anymore. My selections are literally faded sweaters and office pants 90% of the time and I’m totally into the first black dress. It’s awesome. I wish stuff like that showed up at my local thrift shops but it seldom does, and it bums me out to think that maybe something like that was for sale and someone smaller than me bought it, butchered it and made a dress for themselves that would never fit on my body, when I (a definite poorer person), really have to put work into budgeting when I want to buy a garment.  And it’s doubly shitty to look at pictures of conventionally thin women dressed up in these awesome too big for them dresses with dumb schmoopy faces on, after they’ve basically stolen options away from people who dont really  that many available for affordable clothing.  When you actually think about what these women are doing, like really think about it... It’s a shitty thing.  I am a crafty-lite person. I can kind of sew and I kind of like to, but I’ve never gone to a thrift store in an attempt to find fabrics because... maybe someone poor suddenly has to goto a funeral or a wedding? I have held stuff in my hands that didn’t fit me and considered making doll clothing, but I didn’t because someone might need it, and I can make due with old bedsheets and my own fucked up clothing that I hoard if I am feelin’ crafty. Doll’s don’t need to look nice for job interviews and social functions because they’re not like... people? And thin women don’t need to goto a thrift store to for fat people clothing to ‘edit’ because the could probably fill the trunk of their car three times over with clothing that fit them from the get go,  and looked decent from literally any Goodwill or Salvation Army..

When I see popular photos of thin people on this site I’m just like?????? Congrats?? You did it you’re skinny the whole world loves you wow so unexpected.

this is horrible & unnecessary you do you, let them do them, & keep ur nose out of their business. no one should be shamed for their body type.

I love how fat people are like “yeah I totally get where you’re coming from” and skinny people are like… So offended by this lmao.
