ngl really starting to hate this trend of someone making connections between fiction and reality, esp between heavily political media and irl politics (y'know like steve rogers, The Guy Who Punches Hitler), and someone else being super dismissive and shitty abt it and acting like they’re being obtuse and ridiculous for making connections like that. even if theyre jokes like this post it’s still wild to me that apparently its illegal to go “hey like in the comic” as if those themes aren’t in the comics to make people recognize them in real life

what if you made a connection between politics and politics though when you’re talking to adult strangers you don’t know? like instead of being like, ‘omfg your real life trauma is just like what harry potter went through’? like maybe there is an appropriate time to talk about your cartoons and maybe there is a time where you should just not talk if you can’t resist talkin about your cartoons.
